and 11 more on one hanging area.. and 11 more in pots.. and we are not counting the back wall of the mounted orchid area, because i really am afraid to and my husband reads this LJ.....
let me know if we are likley ever going to be in strike range of the same orchid show. we can enable each other..

At one time, I had over a hundred and they weren't miniatures. They filled my backyard when I lived in Miami, FL. Sadly, most of them are still there because I can't support them here.
Maybe I will check out miniatures but my husband will likely kill me though I'm not dead yet...

i get most of mine on mounts because i overwater, but many of them are able to do well in pots or mounts. and there is something to be said for having a botanical garden's worth of species, in a corner of your room.
aw, cmon.. just one itty bitty little orchid? fits under lights, easy to care for... stays small........

Oh H*lls no it doesn't work!!! I go into a yarn shop with a friend who knits- I DON'T KNIT.. And I STILL Walk out with three skeins of Alpaca!!!! (Mind you- it was a Gorgeous Green and a delightful dark purple,... and I'm SURE I can find someone who'll be willing to knit it up for me if I paid them for their time... and... )

Honestly, I'm not sure how many she has. I DO know that one blooms every years on the exact date of my parents' anniversary, and that we have at LEAST one or two in each room of the house, but beyond that...
And she hasn't even been to an orchid show ^_^;
