Just back from Lunacon, in Rye Brook NY. I had fun, saw lots of my friends, and even sold some stuff.... but it wasnt all good....

The thing is, i know its my own fault.  I got food poisoning Saturday evening because i was stupid.
I spent the night throwing up and trying to keep down ice chips and little sips of water, finally going to sleep at ( Read more... )

ginger is a godsend! it has anti bacterial AND anti parasitic properties (which is why its really good to eat with sushi)

since i poisoned myself by being stupid with a ground beef pizza.... i figured i would avoid cheese, tomato sauce, or anything with a strong smell (when i am nauseous smells bug me)... so i thought "ginger! i want ginger!. and protein...." and since i was skipping fish... no sushi.

i felt MUCH better afterwards.

i really love selling at cons, i see all my friends. the only problem is the loading and unloading, and the fact that if you are *alone* you dont get time to eat at regular intervals....

I finally purchased a Brute Force corset at Dragon Con last year, after lusting for one since 2000 or so. Lovely lovely lovely. *sigh* Now, to get skinny enough to wear the bloody thing again!

yup, his corsets last.

as to skinny enough. if you are only a few sizes bigger, just add more lacing in the back, i wore one laced almost open across my entire back when i was losing weight..... as long as the lacing is even, and you have even tension on the corset.. and you dont TOUCH the front busk until the corset is lose in the back, you can get away with it.

also, if you happen to be at a con he, or i, or any of the other folks who sell his stuff are at... find out what size you take now. get one maybe one or two sized smaller and just live with the laces open in the back more than "optimal" its a good inspiration to lose weight, and helps take the pressure off your back, i did it, and lost weight pretty fast... standing up straight is a good inspiration.

any chance of you going to ICON?

Probably not, sadly. It looks like I'll be at Dragon Con again, and *maybe* FenCon in Dallas, but other than that, I'm a workin' fool. :-P This gainfully employed thing sucks.

no, the schedule and hours suck. the gainfully employed doesnt. trust me.

well say hi to Tom when you see him again. of course if you KNOW you fit into a corset (and each maker has a slightly different pattern) then you can also mail order. since i know you had one, and were fitted by Tom, i know an off the rack corset would fit you.

i only mail order a corset if you have been fitted, worn, and etc.. into THAT brand.

i just gave you guys the basics... there is more, lots more... ditzy doesnt begin to cover it.

i would have been sorely tempted to dump her in the everglades, but why poison a gator?

the sad thing is.... a lot of the other vendors at the fair were witness to her "not doing her job" and will be negative character references. plus anyone who asks Tom "should i hire her" is going to get a resounding NO! so she not only blew this gig, but a lot of future gigs.....

failing to ship my box is . well its aggravating to me, but lying to her boss about it? and that is only ONE item on a laundry list.

What was the point??? If you are going to get caught out, and it was really obvious why lie about it???

I think it would be so aggravating for people not to do what is a necessary part of their job (or not do their job at all!!!).

this is why I don't want to go into management... ever!

When I'm dogsick like that, I always crave a high-protein meal like that. It amazes my husband that I would want to eat at all, but it helps.

I'm glad that you're on the mend, and I might take you up on that recommended read.

i couldnt have eaten anything saturday night, or sunday morning.. but by sunday early evening i needed the food and my tummy had ... slightly settled.

protein, plain... simple... non gravy laden.. protein.
with ginger

best thing in the world for me

and the book is fabulous, even if you are not an orchid fan. but if you like orchids its even better.
mind you, full of nasty behavior, backstabbing, stupidity, and crazy people... but a great read.

I am sorry I will not be seeing you at Ecumenicon. I had to pull out due to family issues. If you have been reading my LJ for the past week you'll understand.

Talk to Charles Buttler about having a "Scratch and Sniff" time at Darkover.
