Spaying/Neutering city subsidizing?

Hi! I searched back through the tags and found a tiny note about this 4 years ago, but I was hoping for some more advice. Our friend's cat just had kittens and we're adopting one. In a few months they are old enough we would like to get him/her spayed/neutered. I read that some cities subsidize this, but does anyone know anything more? My Japanese ( Read more... )

Don't worry about subsidizing too much as it's super cheap here. My vet in Aichi was 17,000 for spaying with almost no after care, here in Kawasaki City near Tokyo spaying is 25,000 but that includes 3 day hospital stay and very good after care. Unlike the US where you get nada.

There is a non profit organization - dobutsutachi-no-kai - by a German Lady living in Hino (Tokyo). She or her volunteers will come to your place, pick your cat(s)/dog(s) up and deliver them back after the operation. The costs are 10.000 Yen plus a delivering fee, as far as I remember. She speaks German, English and Japanese ( ... )
