Musicals

There's a musical about cannibalism and one based on Green Day's American Idiot, so why not Contact: The Musical? Yes, the Sagan novel. via badastronomy.

Meanwhile, I've watched the first two episodes episodes 2 and 3 of Glee -- I think I like it so far. I especially like Jane Lynch as the evil cheerleading coach.

I enjoy Glee a lot, but I'm pretty convinced that it's terribly written. Still, I'm always a sucker for musical numbers. I really liked the pilot, then had to wait 6 months for the awful second episode, and the not quite as awful third episode. I know very little about Josh Groban, but his cameo in episode 3 is pretty fantastic.

Oh, I guess I saw eps 2 and 3 then. I must've missed the pilot back in the early summer or whenever it was. I saw all the ads, and then never saw the pilot, and just figured they'd decided to postpone airing the series until now.

It's on Hulu - I think it's just as cheesy and dumb as the later episodes, but for some reason it works much better to me. Probably it makes the next two episodes a little less nonsensical, too.

don't forget a new brain, which is about a guy who had a stroke-like thing, and features a musical number set in an MRI machine.

the staging of it i saw also featured choreography involving people hobbling along with the aid of walkers.
