Where Have All The Designers Gone?

I always thought that being successful in California was hard, but being a graphic designer in California was even harder. Since I was given the a-ok to hire two graphic designers; I have had 2 interviews and 1 cancellation. Who the hell cancels an interview to a job they applied for? Above all, where are the great designers? Probably working is

The catch is working salary and being responsible for fixing the screw-ups, delays, and schedules of your underlings while teaching them to not fumble the design. But you'll break out the whip, get the department running the way you like it, and then life will be very good. :)

I've been doing 11 hour days and I'm sure that will continue to be the case until these catalogs are out.
