Okay, so it’s been a long time since I’ve posted. That, in itself, should say something about how school has been going.

Yes, it’s been a long, hard journey, but I’ve made it through the first quarter. Last Friday I handed in my final final project (after an hour and a half sleep). Now I get to luxuriate in three weeks of vacation while I catch up ( Read more... )

And I thought I was tired yesterday.

Today I started the day with Introduction to Manufacturing at 7:30 this morning. It’s a mixture of first quarter through fifth quarter students, all in fashion design. The instructor is only in her second quarter at the Art Institute, and I have her for the entire day which is kind of a kick.

Today was my first class-Industrial Sewing Techniques. And what did I do? I used an industrial sewing machine to sew lines (well, dots really) on pieces of paper. Straight lines, curvy lines, corners. The object was to learn to control the speed of the machine as well as learn where to put your hands.
