Am I the only one who thinks it's funny that Mom called (to follow up on her previous e-mails and Facebook posts) to warn me how dangerous it would be to travel to Turkey right now? And then admitted that she should really get off her cell phone because she's driving?

Long story short, I seem to have developed an allergy to my wedding/engagement rings (probably nickel, very common especially in people with other allergies, etc.) Replating the rings was only a short-term solution: it wore off in a few months, and replating ain’t cheap either. It's like 75 degrees out here. My desk is full of far too much crap to get done before we go on vacation in 2 weeks and 2 days. All I want to do right now (barring leaving early for vacation) is go home and sprawl on the porch with a book, and the cat (if he would stay put on the porch, which he won't).
