So the date (and place, mor eor less) has been set. Are we crazy enough to go? I was kind of hoping they'd get married next year, not just a few months after we took our last big trip. We could just barely squeak out the vacation time (though I'd better not get sick or anything for the rest of the year), and we could probably scrape up the cash, but OTOH my ankle has still been acting up, and Tom is not thrilled at the prospect of another encounter with Israeli security.
I suppose I should call my cousin and find out if we're even invited (though she insisted we were the last time I talked to her), and what plans there are for some kind of stateside reception. I kind of feel badly for her that from her family, if we don't go, her parents will probably be the only ones there - her sister (with 2 little kids and a job) probably can't even swing it. And she is one of the few cousins on my side (3 of 9) who bothered to schlep to our wedding, though admittedly it was a much smaller schlep than this would be.
Also, well, fewer family members = fewer crazy family members and less family drama than there would probably be at a stateside reception. So there's that.
How do I sort this all out?
