There are things I should be doing, like making the necessary formatting edits to my thesis (which is getting published), or finding out how to get from Heathrow to Euston Square station (I think), or finishing the last piece of the painting/collage/thing I have been working on, but instead I am listening to music and fangirling a certain singer Read more... )

I'm sorry you're in such pain, both physically and emotionally. I know how hard it is to be living in a place you don't particularly like and working a job you don't enjoy. Here's hoping things look up soon ( ... )

It's not like I'm in a BIG pain, physically - it's more an ongoing one and, at some point, it just makes you feel tired and sore and weak all over, and I hate that. :( But thanks for your sympathies! <3

And THANKS for the London transportation hints! I'm just going for the weekend, so I'll just be taking a small carry-on luggage, so I am probably going to take the Tube or one of the trains (there are the regular trains as well, it seems, aside from the express, and they're cheaper:)).
Now that you mention King's Cross... there's a kid in me that wants to go there and check out Platform 9 and 3/4 again. I mean, I was there two years ago, but... ;)

I am basically in love with Chris Pureka. I watch her 'Momentary Thief' video on You Tube ALL THE TIME. She is so beautiful. :)

She is beautiful in her own way. Not quite my type (a bit too butch and a bit too blond for me), but I guess it's her charisma that makes her beautiful.

Well, in our case it's not only the fact that we want to live together. It's also a very feasible option, since my contract is ending in November and I'd probably end up moving, anyway. Plus in Dublin it's easy, since we don't have to buy furniture etc. I know it's gonna sound heartless, but we've actually talked about this - but it's a lesser commitment this way than if we actually had to furnish our apartment together etc. (not that we don't feel committed)

So yeah, here's to hoping it all works out. :)

I don't think it's heartless if you don't want to live in Dublin forever. I can't imagine you would take your furniture wherever you'll move next.

Two friends of ours (a couple) moved in June. Now you are moving, we are and other three friends of ours are moving together, too. Another friend switches dormitories from summer to ordinary accommodation, another one moves together with her boyfriend and I don't know who else is moving this autumn. :D (And I don't count my friend from Hong Kong being in France during the winter semester.)
This is why it's so fascinating. :)

I hope you'll be happy living together. ♥

That is true. But what I meant is more like - if we were in Germany, or somewhere where the usual way to do it is get a proper apartment and furnish it etc., we might be even more careful about moving in together, or just people in general would maybe let a longer time pass before moving in than here - here the necessity to actually share an apartment (unless you feel like spending a 1000 a month on a 1-bed apartment of your own) makes moving in with your partner sound reasonable even after a fairly short period of time, and since you don't actually invest a lot into shared belongings, it kind of doesn't seem to be so big of a deal.

Hehe, well, I kind of am surrounded by people who move all the time (not only within Dublin, but also move from country to country), so to me that's nothing out of the ordinary, but I see your point. :)

And well, I could say the same to you. :) For us it will save us some time and make things a bit easier and hopefully more pleasant.
