My pleasure, it's rare to read hot scenes between John and Dean that are so in chacrter. You have great voices for them here.

Oh this was incredible. Very hot but there's something really significant underneath it all. Really well done. :)

Backtracking from girlguidejones' remix...

He leans forward, cups Dean’s cheek in hand and kisses the top of his son’s head. His lips come away wet with rain and sweat, and he licks the taste off his lips before lying back again.

Love that. And how there are no words, between them or for what they're doing...*shivers*
Good stuff.

wow, thanks so much for not only giving ggj's amazing story a chance, but for backtracking to the original! (i'm a huge fan of yours, too, so it gave me a big ole grin to see that you like my work.) and also thanks for giving the pairing a chance -- i read your comment on jones' story, and i know that many people are rightfully uncomfortable with it. i'm happy that you trusted us and tried it out!

Sometimes, you just have to trust the author, and there were too many good ones in this mix *not* to.

It's a hard pairing to like. Too much potential for utter, abject fucked-up-ness. But this is good, solid stuff, and i'm glad i dove in.

aww, thank you! we're quite the dynamic trio. i do appreciate that this is a hard pairing to like. i dunno, there's something about the relationship -- nonsexual and sexual both -- that definately fascinates me. i write gen about it too, it's just something i like to sink my teeth into, as a writer. i agree though, it can go very very wrong, very very easily.

They haven’t said a word to each other for over an hour.

The lack of conversation kills me. It poisons everything between the two of them so that even when John asks the question there isn't any answer. How can there be? Does Dean even understand why he initiates these encounters?

I love how you made me think about the two of them. In so few words you've got so much going on. *shiver*

lol, i was totally writing you a rec to go read girlguidejones remix of this, and then looked and saw that you did! thank you so much for leaving her a comment, she was super sad when she realized that not as many people read/comment on john/dean fic. which i think is really a shame, because when it's good, it's really good.

to be honest with you, i think dean doesn't understand and hasn't put a whole lot of conscious thought into it. over the past few seasons, we've seen him grow more comfortable with words since sam needs to talk (or dean needs him to talk) but with their dad dean probably doesn't need it or can't really approach it.

I'm just so happy to find another great piece of John/Dean.

As for Dean I think he does his best to avoid conscious consideration of much of his life. (He sort of sees his brother as thinking enough for the two them.) I think he's afraid what might happen if he examines his life to closely. Gut instinct mostly seems to work, except when it doesn't.
