National Blog Posting Month - Nov 05
Buckle up, Buttercups.. this one is LONG - like it might hit the LJ character limit-long - and took longer to prep than it did to plan out. The second I saw the question, it was 90% done. It's also very photo-heavy FYI.
Imagine turning Tin Man into a Bollywood movie. Which scenes would make awesome picturizations? Any specific casting ideas? by amedia
First.. This prompt made my brain explode a little. But in a good way. Turns out, the biggest waffles I had were between Jeb & Glitch and Glitch & Zero (more on that below)
Second.. I have to remember that there is a slight chance someone reading this has no idea what Tin Man is.. so do I take the time breaking it down or just link to the Tin Man tag(s) and move on? I'll decide later. Or not.
See what I did there? LOL
Third.. I'm going to answer the questions in reverse order, because that's how the brain processed it. Then I'll go try to find the very specific screenshots I am thinking of, assuming I can find them at all... and THEN, I'll worry about formatting it into some semblance of order later. Update:: It was nine hours before I got to the HTML because I got distracted watching the movies I was digging screencaps out of. Whoops.
Any specific casting ideas?
This list is going to do a few things. Mostly, it's going to show you all that my Indian cinema box is a little 'selective'. But there are a LOT of movies still to watch and not nearly enough time in the day Can I just get a paying job watching movies all day, please & thanks?!

This cast is expensive XD But I really really wanted to put Anushka SOMEWHERE... so Carter and Evie got shoved in there at the last minute. And then I had to make sure Ralph and Lorainne got in there. I also wanted to use screencaps only, but sometimes it's just hard to find folks in a scene together that wouldn't make the casting awkward (looking at SRK and everyone...)

Which scenes would make awesome picturizations?
+ This is where my first casting issue came in. Because the FIRST thing I though of was Glitch's Longcoat beatdown in the quarry, and how epic a dance number that would be. And Hrithik is the master of dance, far as I'm concerned. But he's just not ~Glitch for me. Maybe we need to do a rewrite so that Zero's causing trouble a bit longer so we can have a dance off. And now I need to figure out when Zero gets his big number because you can't put Hrithik in a movie and not let the man MOVE.
Where was I? Right.. dance numbers
+ Ajay doesn't really do dance numbers (bless him) but I imagine there's going to be one hell of a flashback number with all the lens flares and slow-mo and it'll hit that gut-punch in all the right spots. And here's the part where you're asking: 'Erin. Why would you not have Kajol play his wife since she's, y'know, his wife?' Well.. because she's mom. And I love Rani like I love Adora so this is where we are. [shrug emoji]
+ Deepika is going to get her moment in the Northern Island, dancing around all those ridiculous columns with an army of backup dancers aka Mo-bats. Because she's Deepika and it's gonna be CRAZY.
+ I also can see a big number for everyone round about the separation adventures (DG & Ahamo in the balloon; the boys heading for the tower; mom on her little island) - one of those montage numbers, similar to Cain's number, but more.. positive? This is also where we can shove in some more flashbacks of the royal family being a family because you know damn well SRK!Ahamo would have been more present in his kids lives than some other Ahamos were.... [side-eye emoji]
+ Also, the ENTIRE Mystic Man preshow is gonna be a GOD DAMN SPECTACLE.
+ The Realm is kind of a perfect setup for a dance number, and with Ashi.. it's almost too obvious a spot? I don't know... But Kansas might also be a good setup number for the journey? All of a sudden I can't even remember if I've ever seen Alia do a dance number, minus one that she was more on the sidelines of
So that's four numbers.. needs at least one more.. if not two. I'll have to think on it.
And because it matters, in this case: based on the run time of the thing, midpoint is just about when they find Adora, so I guess that's as good a place for an intermission as anything?
Okay.. I think that's as much damage as I can do for one post. This is also now living rent-free in my head. Thanks for that amedia..
