Happy birthday for tomorrow if I don't get around to saying it! (and bah, time differences and all that).

Although, I think, Crowe may be just a bit higher on my list than Bale.

OMG, TAKE IT BACCCCKKKKK.

I do have a fair reason though. I don't like Russell Crowe. I think he is a very talented man, and I loved him in A Beautiful Mind, but I think every New Zealander is programmed to hate him. Because when he is an idiot and hits people with telephones, he is called a New Zealander (BECAUSE HE WAS ACTUALLY BORN IN NEW ZEALAND... BAAHHH, HE WASN'T BORN IN AUSTRALIA LIKE EVERYONE THINKS!), and when he is all wonderful and acting, and winning awards he is Australian. It really gets on my nerves. Plus he is known to have a temper problem (see aforementioned HITTING someone with a hotel telephone, among other things). Yea. All this doesn't take away from the fact that he is very TALENTED, and I suppose talented people have a little more prerogative to be highly strung, who knows? But Bale is way better because he's been famous since he ( ... )

Aw, thank you! <3

Eeeeep. I only think he'd be higher on my list because I've known him longer and have always liked him. Christian I only just recently started becoming fonder of. I never heard of Russel hitting someone with a telephone and now I'm slightly freaked out by it. o_o; I know plenty of people who reference him as Australian. -sigh- You've put a whole new light on Russel for me.

I actually did think Christian and Joseph were a bit alike in that sense. I love actors who don't seek out the limelight and take on this career because they love it.

ACK! I didn't mean to spoil you! -shame- I didn't think my review was very coherent but it is true that I couldn't find much fault with it. In every department of the movies it seemed to prevail. I was very happy to see Alan in the movie, too, as I adore him and don't think he gets nearly enough love as he should. Hopefully you can see it soon!

LOL, it amuses me that you've known Russell Crowe for longer, even though Bale has been doing films for almost twice as long. Tehe. Probably since before you were born! (Empire of the Sun was made in 1987!) Oh well, I suppose Crowe is in the limelight a lot.

Yea, if you read Wikipedia, Crowe was born in Wellington, NZ (same as me), and left when he was four for Australia, but came back at 14 and stayed until he was 21. He is also the cousin of two former New Zealand cricket captains. He has a lot of ties here. I don't mind him being called Australian - he probably considers himself that, I don't know. I just get annoyed that people tend to remove us from the equation altogether just because NZ "might as well be Australia" even though we are nothing alike. We suffer from chronic little brother syndrome so we hate ties with Australia because of it, even though they'd not done anything to us, it is just the rest of the world. LOL.

Oh, don't worry about spoilers. Westerns are pretty similar - lots of people die. I got my copy of 3.10 to ( ... )

It has to do with Russel being more in the limelight probably but the first movie I ever saw him in was A Midsummer Night's Dream but had no idea who he was. When I first noticed him it was in Batman Begins and I just saw Newsies last year so I'm late in his work. Plus my mom's a big fan of Russel's so I was influenced by her too.

I'm not even from NZ and I'm miffed when people associate the two! NZ and Australia are two completely different countries, despite how my history book also has them joined at the hip. I suppose it's just because people consider Australia more well-known or popular or whatever word you'd like to call. I dunno, but they most certainly are not the same country.

Friends on LJ are life-savers. :D Glad you're not irked by the spoilers. But, as you said, westerns are pretty predictable. From the previews I was able to tell Russel or Christian would die so it wasn't too much of a surprise. I think I was most shocked and upset by Alan's character's death!

Aw, THANK YOU! <33 The icon is beautiful. -uploads-

I watched The Prestige last night as well! I love that movie hardcore though I may be too distracted by Hugh Jackman to really notice the amazingness that is Christian in the movie. XD I do have to admit that he does pick challenging roles - but he's good at them!

I hope you get to see it on stage soon! It's phenomenal. BUT OMG LOVE FOR BATB. People don't appreciate its awesomeness enough.

THANK YOU AGAIN! ♥♥♥

*blink* *huggles you* I adore GREEK. But no one till now on my FList did too. Too bad its always on Monday nights when I work. So I haven't seen the premiere yet.

Is it weird that I still hold out for Rebecca/Beaver?

Ooh, I hope you see it soon!

It's not weird at all. I just don't want Rebecca and Cappie together AT ALL. Rebecca may be fine on her own (I admit I'm not her biggest fan) but I cannot stand her with Cappie. Or perhaps it's because I'm so hell-bent on Cappie/Casey.

Huzzah for Greek!

I actually have a series of one-shots I'm planning (one has been completed) that is Rebecca/Beaver and hopefully looks on Rebecca more favorably then the show. And its going to be AU as all I've heard about this season kinda made my fic null.

And who can not be Casey/Cappie. They are my OTP for taht particular fandom. Although I do like Evan. When he's not involved in the almightly love qradrangle.

I mod a GREEK fanfic comm kappatauhouse if you ever want to read some here on LJ. My co-mod has kinda disappeared so I'm the only one but feel free to post and what not.

First of all: Happy Birthday!!!! I hope you had a good one :)

Second: I LOVE YOUR BANNER. Desmond is ♥

I totally agree with you about 3:10 to Yuma. That movie was way better than I thought it would have been; I'm not a huge fan of Western movies, but I loved this one! The acting was amazing.

I loved the relationship between Ben (Crowe) and Dan (Bale) - the sheer respect they held for another.

That was definitely my favorite aspect about the whole film.

THEY KILLED EVERYONE I LIKED.

BAH I KNOW, WTF? I was really, really happy that Ben was being awesome and letting Dan put him on the train and then BAM. *sigh*

But now, the ultimate question. Russel Crowe or Christian Bale?

I have to go with Christian Bale ♥ I've loved his acting, and him as a person, since I saw Newsies :D But Russel Crowe is definitely tough competition ;)

Thanks! It was a wonderful birthday. :D

Ooh, and thanks again! Desmond makes me incredibly happy inside. I don't understand how girls can fawn over Sawyer when Desmond's in the same shot. XD

I'm usually not too big on westerns either but this one was surprising in a good way. I loved the way Christian and Russel played off each other - it was excellent.

I know! I was happy to see Ben get all angry and kill everyone else though (as morbid as that sounds). It was a predictable ending but, y'know, still. I was most upset about Alan Tudyk's character dying though. After seeing Serenity, it's seemed like he's done nothing but die, even though that's not the case. Or perhaps I'm still mourning Wash.

I just saw Newsies a couple years back and my mom's a big fan of Russel so I was influenced by her. :D
