Yesterday was just one of those days where you're glad you made it through the day without killing anyone. Work itself wasn't that bad, and I didn't have any issues with anyone I dealt with there, but I was just in a mood and felt like biting heads off. The dreary weather, I fear, is getting to me; And it's not getting any better.

There's some permeable paving systems - for a paddock I'd suggest the ones that look like a lattice, which you'd put your dirt into and over but could easily muck out to the harder surface when muddy. They're also known as grass pavers, because people put grass into the holes, and the pavers keep the roots of the grass from dying when driven or parked upon.
I know you want a smooth, softer surface for horses, but the under layers are important for drainage... What do you think? I haven't seen any horse people talk about some of the new surfaces, but horse people are really conservative sometimes ^-^
