I feel the need to introduce myself.
My name is Jordan and I am a nineteen year old college student, currently residing in PA. I am from Akron, OH. I've been riding for twelve years and showing for ten. I've ridden at many different barns and in different disciplines. I enjoy them all; but my calling is saddleseat. I currently own one American

Awe, that's a bummer. I'm away at school, so I only see him on weekends if I come home. But I couldn't sell him!

And boy, do I hear you on the short person/tall horse thing... I have that same combo going :) I don't know if I can get away with teaching my TB to park out for mounting though.

I think it's funny. I post videos on youtube and people get all weird about "you ride SS" all the time. I don't mind the not-so-natural improvements, but my horse-- no weighted shoes (basic plates), no tail set, no real show training...and he looks and moves like that.
I ride at a boarding barn as well. There are some jumpers/huntseat people, some more just leisure/trail riders, etc. They all love on my horse and love when they can get lessons on him. I've always had a soft spot for my SS horses-- even though I want to get a horse of another breed to just play around with.
Hahaha! Yea, it was really hard! Trying to get that big boy of mine to park out when he can barely see me! :-p

Thank you! I love looking at his now and then pictures. The change in his muscle tone, headset, motion, and how comfortable I am riding him is so different. He is such a good boy now.
Thank you! :)

The first time I came to my new barn and my trainer wanted to take me outside to ride, I almost cried. I was so nervous that he would bolt and hurt me that I convinced her not to make me that day.
Now, I go out there and practice by myself; or at the end of my lessons, she has me go out there (if the weather permits!) and gets him excited. She wanted to get me to the point that I wouldn't be afraid if he got a little hotter, and I'm definitely more used to it. If I get the new video up, you'll see that he can be a bit of handful, but he doesn't get dangerous. He's just being a typical ASB. Instead of freezing up and letting him take off on me like I did before, I now just get after him and he quits. He's much more respectful to me. ;)

Im in Alberta, Canada and I only have around 3 trainers around here. And im finding it easier to show western than anything else. so Ill go along with that until I can get my hands on more saddlseat.

I LOVE that song too... it makes me cry, because it makes me think of Forbes and me.
