Indian meal moth...
Got a lot of grains out or grain products? They like to eat flour, pasta, and oats, yummy. =P

I've kept the flour in the fridge since moving in and am going to through away the pastas tomorrow although the moths are no where near our dry food items, or at least not yet. I will keep our stock to a minimum and get some plastic sealed containers for those things we need to store for longer periods of time like cereals and such.

Love the picture of the cat by the way.

thanks, my friends had a similar incident with indian meal moth, they totally freaked out.

hmm... one quick way you could try killing all of them in your cabinet is taking a new container of canned air, turning it upsidedown and releasing it into the cabinet... it shoots out FREEZING cold air at that point and just do it for about 5 seconds to be sure you lower the temperature in the cabinet to freezing.
Or get the vacuume cleaner and suck them all up.

Using cold and isolating the food from the meal moth should do the trick without having to worry about getting the traps. Just be ruthless about what you throw away now and don't try to save a package that mostly looks good if they are into it at all, like I did the first time this happened to me.

When I bring rice, flour and dry beans home I put them into the freezer for several days then put them into Mason jars and that takes care of it.

I would suggest looking up lists of what they actually will get into (for example, I'm not sure that they will bother with the pasta) so you don't do more than you have to.

I don't about clothes moths. Good luck!!!

Also! I re-read your post and see that you have used traps and abandoned the pantry. I don't think you have to give up using that pantry. You've gotten all the food out of there, and once enough time has gone by (whatever the maximum egg to adult time is, plus a week or two) then anything that hatches out will have died ( ... )

They eat pasta at my house, that's for sure. I think they go for starch.

Oops, that was me. I just eat it anyway, as long as there aren't many. Couscous is their favorite.
And while we're on the subject of pantry pests, look out for dermestids! :)

Please don't overlook pet food and birdseed as sources of these pests.

Even in a big tupperware container with something other than an air tight seal, they can emerge and go into the container... even though it looks like there isn't any room. If you can stick it underwater and not have any leaks, I wouldn't trust it to keep the moths in or out.
