Sometimes even a small-town, country doctor could have brilliant ideas. Leonard was rather smug as he enjoyed his first cup of real coffee from Sickbay’s new coffeemaker. Looked around the small gathering just outside his office, watching everyone enjoy a rich, flavorful, steaming mug. It was the first day back on the mission. A time that

After that was done he started his moves around Sickbay and started preparing all the things needed for Level 5 Quarantine Emergency. He gave out orders to get sickbay ready like a pro. He turned to see what he was left with.
"Zosto!" It gave him a thumbs up and Rueben nodded at least he had someone who knew what it was doing. "Anderson!" The kid came running up. They had been working on a few things and Rueben was hoping that he wouldn't fuck up. "You better know what you’re doing." he nodded and went off doing what he'd been doing. Rueben turned and waited for the first person to come in.

Then those idiots in Engineering had to go and screw things up. It was probably that mini-troll's fault. Kobay hoped the little freak had fallen into the engines.
On top of all that, Dr. Tyler had to come down on his ass again. Really, as if it wasn't obvious he was just kissing up to Dr. McCoy. Kobay was man enough to admit that his work might've been a little sloppy lately. (But he wasn't bitter about the shift change.) Dr. Bunny just had to be a sore winner. (That shift leader position should have been his! He'd served under Dr. McCoy longer!) And why didn't Dr. McCoy take him on the rescue team? They'd served in combat together ( ... )

"Anderson!" he turned and quickly jogged over to the bed. He glared, shaking his head as he turned it off and started it back up. "Do not fuck with the biobeds damnit."

Why had he been picked over Kobay? He just didn't get it.
Tyler looked like he was going to open his big mouth again when Nurse Smith reported for duty. Kobay took a minute to give the new hire a good look-over. He hadn't had a chance to get to know her quite yet. She was no Christy Stiles, but not bad. He grinned at her while Dr. Bunny pretended to be Boss.

"Sir, are you okay?" he asked moving forward, placing a hand on his shoulder. "Are you from Engineering?"

He nodded briskly trying to catch his breath in gasping hiccups. After all, coughing on the guy was not exactly polite. He held his breath for a bit and let it go, feeling as if he'd run a marathon and breathing like it, too. This whole breathing thing was becoming an Olympic sport. He was never good at sports or...physical endurance.
Yes he was from engineering, he reiterated with another enthusiastic nod. The kid seemed pretty perceptive. Maybe he could gesture his way through this conversation after all.

"Okay here, let's get you to a bed." he mumbled. Rueben waved over a Nurse. "Lay on your side please," he helped roll the other man over. Right now he was all Doctor. Rueben looked up at the biobed readings to make sure they came back...well alive. "Get this man on a respirator." he looked down at Donnie, pulling out a pin light to shine in Donnie's eyes as the Nurse got a respirator.

"I need two biobeds STAT! Got seriously injured people here! If yer not workin' with a critical patient, yer workin' with me!"

"Two biobeds over here sir!" he waved them over and went to help pull Miller over onto the second bed. McCoy would take Scott since he was a higher rank and most likely injured worse than the other. "What do we have here?" he asked, requesting any information from the people with Miller.

In the adjacent bed, Leonard laid a hand on Scotty's shoulder again. "Easy, they're gettin' to him. Just watch an' see. Now hold still while I give ya somethin' for those symptoms." He pulled a hypo from his pocket, continuing as he programmed it, "Won't be too much longer before this is all over." Because he was feeling a little bad for all Scotty had been put through, he was more gentle about administering the injection.
