Thinking about my pairings lately as well as pairings I can't stand. :p Obviously it's all to each their own and I want to start off by saying I respect that. With that in mind, offer me the same courtesy as I make my list and ramble.

I don't see Jack/Sam, but I'm only season three, so six and a half more seasons to see what everyone loves. I'm definitely seeing Jack/Daniel.

And Peter/Olivia, I don't see it at all. They were really brother & sister to me, till they decided to make it so obvious, and then it was just annoying. I was always more Astrid/Peter, still am.

Good point about Peter/Olivia being pushed - I think that summarizes well how I feel about it. Thinking that way... maybe that's when Jack/Sam irritates me, too. There's this obvious switch where suddenly TPTB are shoving this "potential" in our faces. *makes a face* What really pisses me off, though, is the S7 episode "Grace." Drr...

I hate it when they push them. If it happens naturally, and there's that moment where it happens, and it's perfect. But seasons of moments where they shove it in your face really take the shine of it for me. Always does. I'm a big fan of the friendship build, and it's never forced. It just happens. I think most of my ships are based on something platonic. But then I always love a friendship more than a romantic ship.

I'm a gen person when it comes to canon (usually, as I'm finding myself in a new realm of shipper'ness with JAG) and I'd much prefer to see strong, developing friendships. UST is great. I want something to build off of in fic, but I don't want my show's cast to be hurt because a romance comes up. :p

I have this very strange disconnect between fandom and watching TV. While watching Stargate SG-1, Sam/Jack makes me die of joy and squee and all of that business. But in fandom? Jack and Daniel, all the way. I don't think anybody is more perfect for Jack than Daniel is. <3

My largest OTP is John and Rodney. <3<3 They belong together forever and ever and ever. YET, I love John and Cam Mitchell. A lot. I can pretty much ship John and Rodney with anyone male. Yet, McShep = OTP FOREVER.

I also am akjsdhaskjda about Mulder and Scully.
Newest pairing is Rizzoli and Isles.

I forgot! Pairings I dislike:

John/Elizabeth. I do not know why. I think it's because John/Elizabeth is the het version of John/Rodney, and nobody messes with my John/Rodney.

Sam/Daniel. I really dislike this pairing because most fic I have ever read makes them the best friends/brother-sister relationship and then they discover their love. I don't hate it and it doesn't make my skin crawl, but I just find a lack of awesome fic for it. Though, I think I have read some stories that are alright.

Daniel/Vala - ahhhhhhhh. Very much dislike. Again - I think it's because Daniel belongs to Jack in my brain, and nobody should ever mess with that. Ever!

Yeah, sometimes there is a disconnect between fandom and watching canon - good point! :)

R&I is sort of instant love, right? I've only seen the first two episodes and already it was like "shipping it!" *g*

I've discovered that I can't ship SG-1. I mean, I've tried, but I think I'm just so enamoured of the team dynamic that shipping almost seems shallow in comparison. SGA and SGU, I'm all over the shipping (picking really unpopular pairings in both cases - *facepalm*), but when it comes to SG1, my mind draws a blank. I have a delusional soft spot for Cam Mitchell/Carolyn Lam, though.

ZOE/WASH. They are so sad and so awesome. (Zoe, my autumn flower. Somewhat less attractive now that she's all corpsified and gross... :D) ♥

Jack/Nathan, but of course! :D They are in my OTPs, but I seem to feel less strongly about them than some. :p But you're right, they shouldda been mentioned. ;)

SG1 really is best with kickass team work.
