Thinking about my pairings lately as well as pairings I can't stand. :p Obviously it's all to each their own and I want to start off by saying I respect that. With that in mind, offer me the same courtesy as I make my list and ramble.

I don't see Jack/Sam, but I'm only season three, so six and a half more seasons to see what everyone loves. I'm definitely seeing Jack/Daniel.

And Peter/Olivia, I don't see it at all. They were really brother & sister to me, till they decided to make it so obvious, and then it was just annoying. I was always more Astrid/Peter, still am.

Good point about Peter/Olivia being pushed - I think that summarizes well how I feel about it. Thinking that way... maybe that's when Jack/Sam irritates me, too. There's this obvious switch where suddenly TPTB are shoving this "potential" in our faces. *makes a face* What really pisses me off, though, is the S7 episode "Grace." Drr...

I hate it when they push them. If it happens naturally, and there's that moment where it happens, and it's perfect. But seasons of moments where they shove it in your face really take the shine of it for me. Always does. I'm a big fan of the friendship build, and it's never forced. It just happens. I think most of my ships are based on something platonic. But then I always love a friendship more than a romantic ship.

I'm a gen person when it comes to canon (usually, as I'm finding myself in a new realm of shipper'ness with JAG) and I'd much prefer to see strong, developing friendships. UST is great. I want something to build off of in fic, but I don't want my show's cast to be hurt because a romance comes up. :p

I like ship talk. I don't do enough of it. Mostly because I never seem to have normal ones, or the *popular* ones.

I remember shipping them so much when I watched that. LOVED THEM.

I think I do prefer that too, because there is so much to build on in fandom then. It's a bit less heartbreaking too!

I usually talk about specific ones with folks. I'm sooo happy I have a handful of Cho/Jane supporters. I very rarely ever find Bruce/Johnny fans *sniffles* though there's been a few awesome folks in the past.

Random (or maybe not so much?): currently going through tvtropes.org. LOL You can get lost in there forever...

That's good! I miss having that. But there's nothing I'm mad on that's airing right now. And 95% of the Stargate Atlantis watchers I know ship something else fiercely, mostly I just flail to myself.

I could see myself shipping Cho/Jane. My problem is once I start shipping something, I don't see other ships as much. I liked the Jane/Lisbon relationship right away, and it stuck. :D

I haven't looked there before, I don't go to some sites, I waste too much time anyway!

Hee, I know what you mean about getting into one pairing and then not budging. I'm often similar, although I have at times spread out or moved on. For Criminal Minds I thought I'd go for Morgan/Reid since it was easy to find. (First I was more interested in Reid/Garcia but couldn't find anything.) Then I happened across excellent Hotch/Reid fic and the rest is history. ;)

Cho/Jane happened to be a pair I'd seen noted in prompts or stories before I started really looking into the fandom side of Mentalist. Then when Cedara pointed me to fic and it included X's work...? SOLD! I love X's art, she's one of the few fellow Bruce/Johnny fans, and wow, her writing is excellent. I AM SO EXCITED BECAUSE I GET TO BETA FOR HER! *squees*

Ahem.... ;) And yes, so easy to get sidetracked on sites....

I think I've stopped shipping Criminal Minds. I did love Morgan/Garcia, and I still do love their friendship, just not into shipping CM anymore.

It's funny, I don't budge, but parts of the ship can go elsewhere! My favourite ship right now, John/Elizabeth, she I can (and do) ship with everyone, but John, I just can't read him with anyone else. That happens a lot.

lol True on all fronts... I often will only read a certain pair yet kind of ship alternatives.

I actually have a real fondness for Daniel/Martouf (IDKW) in SG-1, but it's not like there's really fic out there for them. (Sad!)

Oh, okay! I had to google him! I'm so bad at SG1 names. :D It's weird, I'm shipping a character I haven't really met, with someone I love. Cam & Elizabeth, but what I saw, I liked. I'm a hopeless shipper really.

Yeah I read Daniel/Elizabeth somewhere, and it had John/someone in the background, and I was having a "no! he's hers!" moment, but I was happily reading Daniel/Elizabeth. :D

Martouf! <3 There are soooo many characters - including ones that get forgotten *cries* - so it can get hard to keep track of. I also don't recall anymore what eps are where in continuity. :p
