OTPs

Thinking about my pairings lately as well as pairings I can't stand. :p Obviously it's all to each their own and I want to start off by saying I respect that. With that in mind, offer me the same courtesy as I make my list and ramble.

EDIT: OMG how did I forget??

My OTP of all OTPs: Bruce Lewis/Johnny Smith (The Dead Zone) - There's something so perfect about this match, I cannot fully explain it. No matter what, I 'ship these two and you can bet that any fic I write for the fandom will come down to their connection, whether it be overtly slashy or the deep friendship that (used to be?) canon.

Other OTPs:
Malcolm Reynolds/Simon Tam (Firefly) - I don't budge on this one ;) I'm not sure what it is exactly, but I love these two.

Daniel Jackson/Jack O'Neill (Stargate SG-1) - One of the larger slash followings out there, IMO. There's a lot to build on throughout the entire series, but especially early on where there's this excellent friendship base. Sometimes I feel like they work too well (lol) so I have entertained other pairings in the fandom, though I don't stray for long.

Blair Sandburg/Jim Ellison (The Sentinel) - Again, huge slash following and a wealth of stories to read. I love these guys and if I hadn't been a slasher before this, I certainly would after watching the show.

Dana Scully/Fox Mulder (The X-Files) - I'm not overly active here, but I really can't imagine one without the other. One of the few canon pairings that I really adore.

Illya Kuryakin/Napoleon Solo (Man from U.N.C.L.E.) - Who else? Awesome dynamic.

Bud Roberts/Harriet Sims (JAG) - I'm not reading anything focused specifically on them, but these two are quickly ranking in my favorite canon pairings. They're sweet, strong, well-matched...

Wash/Zoe (Firefly) - Speaking of canon pairings...

Harmon Rabb/Sarah MacKenzie (JAG) - I can't remember the last time I shouted aloud at my TV for the characters to kiss and get to it already! But indeed, I have been doing this for this canon-ish couple. (OMG so frustrating.)

Kimball Cho/Patrick Jane (The Mentalist) - Newer addition, I really am in love with this pairing. The only pairing I supported in the fandom prior this was Rigsby/Van Pelt (and I still adore them) because as nice as the dynamic is between Jane and Lisbon, I see them more as siblings. Anyway, now that I "discovered" Cho/Jane, I'm not budging. ;)

Pairings I cannot stand:
Gil Grissom/Sara Sidle (CSI) - And this tops my list. Sara really rubs me the wrong way. When I first started catching the show (episodes of season five) I liked her. Then I started watching the show and order and she just irritated me at every turn, pissing me off. I like her best when she's interacting with Greg, actually, though I don't 'ship them. Gil and Sara just do not work for me. I've never liked her attitude towards him or her obsession. I can't see it as a particularly healthy relationship for either of them. :\

Jack O'Neill/Samantha Carter (SG-1) - I've never liked the pairing. They just don't match up well in my mind.

Clayton Webb/Sarah MacKenzie (JAG) - OMFG I want to shoot the person who decided to head on with this pairing on the show. Hell, they had to frigging change Webb (who I've long adored) just to set up a scenario for it to be in the least bit plausible. These two have never had sparkage, IMO (because I could possibly see Harm/Webb). They are also terribly unmatched with Webb being incredibly unhealthy for Mac. (Seeing as they get together post-Paraguay and Webb's taken to drinking and Mac is a former alcoholic.) Yeesh.

EDIT Johnny Smith/Walt Bannerman - Holy crap how did I forget to list this? Forget my dislike of Gil/Sara, this pairing I am incredibly adverse to. Hey, I'm a Dead Zone fan and there have been times where I've wanted to read anything I can get my hands on, but I cannot do this pairing. Sooo many issues I have with this. Largely? I grew to like Sara(h?) and it pisses me off to think that she'd lose her husband after x years of marriage which is already after losing her fiancée. This pairing also just makes no sense to me. Walt and Johnny finally are overcoming their animosity and (jealousy-powered) tension in S3. They grow to respect each other and even become friends in many ways, but there's nothing there that tells me there's a base for relationship. //end rant

Reserving Judgement:
Olivia Dunham/Peter Bishop (Fringe) - I need more than a season and a half to get them anywhere near kissing stage. If I'm going to go for these two, I need a longer development. I'm just not a big fan (yet?) and am not totally convinced. Admittedly I'm probably also slightly adverse because this pairing is pretty much all I've seen when doing cursory looks of the fandom. (I also happen to be an Astrid fan and am interested in possibilities of Astrid/Peter. Also, it's entirely possible I'd love Astrid/Olivia if I explored a little more.)

And that's all folks!
