So... even with Luceti's power-restricting thing, Legato can still be kind of a godmode.
It would really help me out to have a little cheat-sheet here, of permissions for typical encounters with characters.
I'll ask permissions in the ooc comm for larger, more specific things... so this is more to serve as a go-to list when running into your ( Read more... )

Character name: Batman
Defenses?: No supernatural defense. Batman does possess a will of iron greater than most men, however.
What is the extent of what he is allowed to do?: You can try to get into his mind and control him. He's not perfect by any means, though expect to be met with a lot of resistance on Batman's part. Him doing something out of character, such as using a gun or killing someone else? He'll probably break out of that, just saying that up front. Generally speaking all of Legato's abilities should work on him considering he's only human and has no specific psychic resistance.
If puppeting is allowed, what is the extent of damage allowed?: No death by puppeteering unless it's cleared with me in advance. Otherwise, up to moderate injury and unconsciousness is fine. Try to avoid broken bones because Batman has a much more difficult time recovering from such maladies than many of Luceti's heroes. Healing magic is always spotty on the subject of broken bones and it's an issue I'd rather not deal with.

Going to go ahead and use 1px text for any Continuum Shift-related spoilers.

Character name: ν-13 (Nu)
Defenses?: Believe it or not, Nu's willpower is absolutely ridiculous. We're talking "enough willpower to reconstruct herself after dying" and "enough willpower to somehow regain her memories even after they've been wiped (which another character notes should be physically impossible)" ridiculous here. She's also not entirely human - she's a clone of one, but she's been genetically engineered into a weapon and actually acts on programming a lot. She's... also kind of being corrupted by the Azure Grimoire, a mass of seithr (which is an element known for causing organisms to mutate into demons if exposed to it for long) currently taking the form of her right eye.

...tl;dr: She's an artificial human corrupted by something that has the potential to turn beings into demons with way too much willpower. Make of that what you will.
What is the extent of what he is allowed to do?: I'm pretty much fine with all of the things listed, though ( ... )

Character name: Taokaka

Defenses?: None. Absolutely none. This is the same girl who can't remember where Litchi's clinic is despite visiting it almost every day. The only thing she has going for her is...her willpower, which probably can't help her against Legato as it's not superhuman or anything.

What is the extent of what he is allowed to do?: I'd prefer no deaths or fatal injuries by puppeteering since why would you want to kill the kitty aaaah ;_; unless you really really want to, clear it by me first. Broken bones, minor scrapes, are okay. She'll heal up a little bit quicker thanks to her species' stamina.

If puppeting is allowed, what is the extent of damage allowed?: Again, I'd prefer if she doesn't go through excessive much pain. Sore limbs, broken bones, a little bit of twisting (seeing as she's apparently flexible) is fine, but overdoing her you'll have to clear it with me.

Other notes?: Uhhhh...she's not really human. She's a clone of one of the most powerful beings on her planet. Obviously, not being the real thing, ( ... )

Character name: Derek
Defenses?: Strong willpower; he's used to fighting his own infection on a constant basis, so resistance will likely be VERY strong. He is also infected with his worlds version of vampirism, which includes a sort of demonic 'presence' in his mind. Derek may not notice the intrusion until he starts doing things he wouldn't do normally, but the 'vampire infection' will...and will probably attack and try to infect interlopers. If your character gets 'bit', it's up to you to decide if the supernatural part of the infection takes affect (the vampirism will try to consume his soul).
What is the extent of what he is allowed to do?: Some puppettering, if he can get past the infection.
If puppetting is allowed, what is the extent of damage allowed?: Preferably not a lot, since killing him will turn him over into a vampire completely...and the vampire will remember your guy, and likely come after him.
Other notes?:

Character name: Vash
Defenses?:Well, we know cannonly he has some defenses against Legato - but it's still a struggle for him to break his mental hold.
What is the extent of what he is allowed to do?: Go nuts - I'm always up for anything really. Although something big (forcing Vash to kill again ect) I'd say contact me.
If puppeting is allowed, what is the extent of damage allowed?: All kinds of crazy damage is cool with me. I'm not afraid to hurt my muse! XD
Other notes?: He hates you - btw.
