I had to call and share this with my friends and family... I thought my ER endo experiences were bad, but to pinch your woo-hoo in the speculum?!?!

That guy is lucky he still has balls... (he does still have balls, doesn't he? ;)

Aww, I'm sorry to hear about your crappy ER experience. When I went to the ER after developing excruciating pain in my right side I just wanted pain killers because it was sunday evening but they ended up doing blood/urine tests and a CT scan.. Fortunately they found out I had a really bad UTI and a monster cyst on my right ovary (ok, they said it was small but it sure didn't feel that way).. I'm lucky they were good but I can see how explaining your situation would be tough, especially w/ male doctors ( ... )

Thanks for the comment and good luck on your upcomming lap. I wish I could drop out this semester but the way my parent's insurance works if I drop out they drop my coverage. So I have to stay full time even if I end up getting all F's for the semester b/c if I even drop one class I won't be full time anymore and will lose all coverage. I really hate the healthcare in the US.

I think your best bet with dealing with work and school is to let your teachers know what's going on so you can get extensions.

I had to drop out of work and uni 18months ago due to being too sick (not because of endo) and although it was hard I didn't have any choice. So give yourself some time off to recover, get extensions and don't push yourself too much.

I'm sorry the Dumb and Dumber's hurt you :( It's good that you got the IUD out promptly if that was causing your extra issues.

Endo does suck.

Thanks for your comment I'm going to try to talk to all my profs just so they know if they call on me I'll probably be in a vicodin coma. I wish I could take a semester off but if I do my stupid insurance won't cover me anymore. But I think your right if I let my profs know what's going on they should be more helpful. I've told some but not all.

Have you talked to the campus disability office? I had to do that when I hurt my wrist and they were able to get me all kinds of extensions and time off. I had to bring them a note from the hospital saying I couldn't write due to a splint, but they took care of everything, including getting note-takers for all my classes. My professors were all really understanding, but if they hadn't been, the disability office would have protected me anyway.

Good luck :(

I had my lap. done last spring right during mid-sem cause I had no other choice. I told by prof's and they were really good about giving me extensions on things that were due around that time. I didn't give many details, just told them I was having abdomin surgery. I also found wearing the loosest, most comfy clothes when I did go back to classes very helpful due to the fact I was as bloated as a beached whale for about a month afterwards. Good luck with everything and I hope you will be feeling alot better after the surgery.
