RULES:
HAVE FUN.
1. GOLDEN RULE - be kind OOCly to and about the other players. No backbiting, be nice. Don't carry over IC rivalries into OOC interactions, that's just mean.
2. NO GODMODING. Short version: "Your fist ends where my face begins" - Everyone has limitations - do not move or kill another person's character without their permission. Long version.
3. This game contains content that is sometimes violent or sexual. If you are of legal age where you live, consider yourself warned. Players will be required to send in an age statement at time of application - you must be at least 16 years of age to play.
4. Real life can interfere with playing time. If something comes up that will keep you away, you won't be in trouble - but it's strongly requested that if you know you'll be away, you make a post to the OOC comm, it's polite to let the other players know. It is required you comment to this post to let the Mods know about it (there is no differentiation like semi-hiatus vs full-hiatus - either you're around or you aren't). If you haven't contacted a mod by the week before Demotions, your character will be demoted.
5. Always check for any notices on krazy-a-lot.
6. All logs will be posted to the krazy-a-lotplay locked comm, have warnings for rated material, squicks, and especially underage activity due to plot. They will also need to always be behind a cut with the warnings and/or header before hand. A good header to use is the Who,What,When,Where,Why,With header - it gives enough information and a chance to warn for and rate things (in the With) if needed. A mod will do the tagging of the entries, so you don't need to worry about that - they then will be able to be found according either to character or fandom :)
7.No forcing/bullying another player into playing anything that makes them uncomfortable. No Pedo-creatures, and no making light of rape, especially OOCly. We're not banning it for plot purposes, but it is a very serious matter, and making fun of it will not be tolerated. Have an open mind. Slash (f/f, m/m) is permitted, as is het (f/m). No gaybashing/hetbashing, etc.
8. A new member is only allowed to play up to three characters to begin with. New members will also have a one month probationary period. If you've shown you can participate actively during that time, you will be given the privilege to create or adopt as many as you like. You need to be active with your pc's [Active means making your post requirements and playing :) ].
9. New characters (PC's and PNPC's) are required to post within the first week of joining. If they do not, they will be demoted.
[9a.] Once applied for by an existing member, a character may be NPC'd until accepted (in comments, not in posts) - if someone else has also applied for the character and got there first, you will receive an email from the mods letting you know you're on the waiting list and unable to play said character at this time.
10. Demotions will take place on the first of the month, unless otherwise stated. If all a player has left are NPC's, they will be alerted that unless they re-apply to bring at least one up to PC status or two to PNPC status before the next Demotions, all of their characters will be purged. (You need to have at least either 1PC or 2PNPC's in order to stay in the game)
11. Played Characters are required to post twice a month, Plotbound Non Player Characters are required once a month. Non Player Characters aren't required to post, but are welcome to - all characters will be on the friends list. Failure to make the required PC or PNPC posts will result in the character being brought down one level at the end of the month (Demotions time) - PC to PNPC, and PNPC to NPC - until there is re-application to up the level. You don't need to apply to downgrade, just send an email to the mods - but to upgrade, you need to prove you can keep up with the posting requirements. Once you've downgraded, you are responsible to delete and re-comment to the character player post, once approved for an upgrade, the same applies. The mods will endeavour to keep the character listing up to date. Explanation on Character Levels and Requirements.
---If you choose to post art or fiction, either fanworks or original, in character - you MUST credit the person who created the work and link to where you found it (unless you did it, please state that too). Please keep unlocked art and stories tasteful. Anything rated R or higher must be flocked AND behind a cut. If your character wouldn't use a cut, use an OOC cut. All videos also must be cut, as well as stories.
---Quizzes/viral posts do not count as one of the posts in the requirement (meaning the sort where one person posts it, then a million others do). Memes that require thought (frex: 10 things you don't know about me, Ask me questions, etc) do.
---Do not post spam, chain-letters, or junk mail to the ooc-group. Things like alerting to new LJ policies, or a spambot taking over from your journal (we've had that happen in the past) are okay - but if you're unsure, don't post and email the mods, if they think it should be alerted, they'll post it for you.
12. If you want to start something "big" that is going to change the face of this community permanently (will threaten this community or threaten to kill any character, etc) it needs to be approved by mods first. If you've got an idea for a disaster, email the mods and they will propose, then implement it.
13. November and December are 'amnesty' months. Between things like NaNoWriMo in November, and the winter holidays in December, we all feel the pinch on time to play. What this means: you don't have to meet your post quota these two months. However, each player needs to post at least once each of these months. It doesn't matter which character, but at least one post, so we know you're still wanting in the game. If you can't post At All these months, Hiatus rules apply. (If you want post more, go for it! ;) )
