I remember a time that I *wrote* LJ posts

I'm back from what was, for me, a rather long vacation trip: something like nine days on the Oregon coast. It felt more like three days, really; time simply flew. I had a lovely time as did, they say, my various companions. I had four nights at the Wee Wakonda Wigwam aka "Captain's House" and another five nights at the honestly named Ocean CloseRead more... )

It all looks quite lovely, with the possible exception of the traffic on 101. I take it you did not go through Longview?

Thank you for the Views from the Windows. What is that view from the kitchen of, with the wee houses inside?

Glad you had a good time, welcome home, and Happy Almost Nearly Birthday!

I did not go through Longview. I took 5 to something like Lake Oswego on the way down; I thought I was doing an end-run around some city and ended up pulling off of the main road to check my map around there. As it happened where I found to pull off was a fruit stand selling lovely berries. It was that sort of trip. On the way back I merged back onto 5 at roughly the same point, I think, though I poked up through McMinneville on 18, which I don't necessarily recommend. Hang on; that tsunami warning sign has text! Where did you find it? All the signs I saw were just fatalistically free of explanation. The message of them seemed to be, "You, like this poor man scrabbling fruitlessly for his life, are pretty much fucked if a tsunami comes. We can't help you. Just thought you ought to know."

My sunburn is peeling. And I notice that you posted the cheater Scrabble board. And that pony looks ok to me, but I guess that's the thing with ponies: you never can tell. M o T

Yes, I owe you an email. And my sunburn is also seriously peeling. And it continues to itch. The tsunami sign was at the Yachats State Park; I also found it on the backs of various benches scattered around town. Should you be feeling cocky, you may also want to have a look at this. -em
