Good and Bad News

Bad news first I guess: I got home late last Wednesday evening to find Alfie mouse dead in his cage. He was getting old I know, but it was still somewhat of a shock. I really miss my poor little man :( Here are a couple of pics of him I never got around to posting until now

Thank you. I've had the new rats about 3 weeks now and I swear they've grown already! I so couldn't pass up their cuteness though - they're so soft and snuggly!

Oh, that's so sad. Rainbow Valley for Alfie, that's for sure. :(

New fur babies sounds like the right thing to have. Wish my piggs could curl around each other without Issues. You are a lucky fur-mom!

Thanks. Yeah, but he's got Silver (rat) and Biskit (cat) to play with, as well as 2 rabbits and a guinea pig, so he's got company while he waits for me!

I got the ratties a couple of weeks before Alfie died, and I'm so glad I did now - losing 3 pets in just over a month is really hard, especially as the girl rats are getting old-ish too.

Aww I wish your piggies would curl up together nicely too. My ratties fight a fair bit, especially the boys because of their age, but it's usually only a squabble over who gets a particular bit of food, or someone telling another to get off their head!!

Thanks Tess honey. I'm glad you think the new rats are cute! Alfie has plenty of company in heaven so I'm sure he's fine.

Thanks mate. I was in the pet shop a few weeks ago (big mistake, but I needed pet food etc) and fell in love with them. I had a spare rat cage, and I couldn't pass up the cuteness! They're such characters I couldn't resist. Still can't quite get over their balls though - I certainly prefer girls on that front!

I was out with my mom and dad this weekend and needed cat food, I don't typically wander around the pet stores but my mom said she always visits the cats so we stopped to look at the cats that were there for adoption, then I got the cat food, then on the way out were the little critters so we laughed at the gerbils and I think there were a couple mice. All the hamsters were sleeping but one. This is my first time with hamsters too and they are both boys but the balls creep me out too!!!!! I had read online that hamsters can 'retract' them for protection but I can see them cleaning themselves sometimes and EWWWWWW!!! Grosses me out. I know it's natural and all boys have them but they're creepy. haha
