What makes me sad though is ever since I learned about Jung (whose theories are behind the Myers-Brigg and Keirsey and such) and found out what a sexist ass he was, it's not as fun as it used to be. :(
I know what you mean. I still have difficulty reading Freud whenever he starts going on and on about penises. (I even snicker sometimes!) It's impossible to separate the idea completely from the person it came from, but I try to concentrate on the main kernel of thought. These guys were products of their times, after all.
No, Freud was a product of his time, which is why I take what he says with a grain of salt. Jung was a sexist. Time-standards aside, the way he viewed women was personal in nature.
