As far as this story goes, it was my way of working out what I think really happened in canon...so don't expect too much more happiness than we got there. In other stories, though!

SO beautifully done. i especially love the part where lee confronts her about choosing zak because he's the first person who's said he loved her. i don't think that's all it is for kara...but...i feel like that is a huge part of the reason she ended up with zak in the first place. so i'm really glad you wrote about that. i can't wait to read more! :)

Yeah, the beginning of chapter 5 was meant to show that she really is close to Zak, she just doesn't understand her own feelings very well. Thanks for reading, I'm glad you like it!

Oh, man! Such a sucker punch. I love what Lee says about her not having to spend the rest of her life with Zak just because he's the first one to love her. So true. I wonder if part of her decisions (re: Zak and Sam) were about them loving her so easily.

I tend to see Kara as an abandoned child because of her father, and I do think the easiness of their love was something she wanted. Nothing was ever easy with Lee! :P
