Okay, it is a little silly to do a blog about
Waiting in the Wings more than four years after it was aired (Feb 4, 2002). But I've been renting all of the
Ats DVDs in order from netflix, so I just got to Season 3 disk 4 and for the first time ever I got to see the deleted scene of
Alexis 'Wesley' Denisof dancing ballet (brilliantly funny), and

which was NOT representative of Joss' work, because the director and actors didn't follow the script
or
they don't like horror, and don't get that this is not horror, it isn't even scary (it is kind of like Doctor Who: great metaphor and kind of cheesy special effects).
Anyway, if you are never going to watch Buffy, you should still make the effort to see 'Once More With Feeling' and 'Hush'.
And if you are never going to watch Angel I would still recommend seeing 'Waiting in the Wings', which is Joss' favorite Angel episode and was made soon after he finished making OMWF for Buffy.
Now I must go look at your icons, are they on your lj or do you stock pile them at photobucket (which is what I do)?

Summer Glau was an amazing ballerina, and evidently she impressed Joss by doing her audition with a Russain accent, and English accent, and an American accent (and doing it well in all three).
You're right that the stuff w/Angel hiding his hard-on was lame & juvenile, but you know men love that kind of joke....

I was thinking about it last night and I think my favorite character is Wesley, and in Season 3 they really start using him more. He had some good moments in S 1&2, but in S 3 he really becomes his own man (first by losing Fred and then by betraying Angel...). I kind of loved how dark and complex he became.
And I loved having Lorne become a regular instead of just an occassional performer.
But I can definitely sympathize with not liking the Conner arc, I'm just finding that it isn't bother me at all (at least not at the moment), not while I'm loving the Wesley so much!
