I didn't make it down to LA for the sci-fi writing convention (World Science Fiction Convention in Anaheim, CA), but it had sounded like a wonderful event, and culminated in the Hugo Awards. At Whedonesque this morning someone posted this fan-made 'trailer' for Serenity at YouTube.
I love everything about this trailer: the epic/operatic build up makes the final title shot look like a satirical comment.

I think most people have seen Joss Whedon's talk at the Equality Now Event when he was being honored last month in New York  for his writing.  The Serenity Now/Equality Now screenings have raised over $61,000 according to the organizers, and there are still several more to report their total funds and one more last screening to take place as part ( Read more... )

When Serenity's DVD cover (in the USA & Canada) was first unveiled people online complained bitterly about about dumb cover, partly because it had nothing to do with the movie, partly because Serenity (the ship) does NOT have any guns..., and partly because they thought there were llamas in the picture....
