Becoming Jane

Aug 10, 2007 17:33

I had a fun day today, buying some baby clothes for my new little second cousin (or first cousin once removed, I'm not very good at figuring out these relationships).  Did you know that the Harley-Davidson company makes some very cute clothes?  LOL

I went to the movies and saw a wonderful preview for The Golden Age, a sequel (I guess) to Cate ( Read more... )

I'll have to search for a preview to Golden Age. I don't think much of Clive Owen's looks, but he looks pretty good in that picture ( ... )

Oh there is a trailer at that 'Golden Age' site, just click on my link and I think you can find it...
I think you'll enjoy Clive Owen in the film, of course I already know that I'll enjoy Cate Blanchett and Geoffrey Rush, so Clive is just the cherry on top.

I also really recommend the Jane Austen movie, but I can definitely understand canceling netflix: I had canceled it last fall when I was watching at lot of TV shows, I only started using it again during summer rerun season.

I'm surprised netflix isn't charging you for the 'lost' Mahogany film, good to know! LOL

OH, that movie looks excellent! I can't wait to see it.

Yes, every now and then, they would send me an email asking if I got my movie on time. And a few years ago, I never received one movie I had requested. They never charged me, because they expect to lose a movie once in a while. Of course, you can't make it a habit of saying you never received a movie, but its the only time I ever said I didn't get a movie, and actually got it. LOL, but I'm glad I have it. The other movie I have is The Decent, which is a movie about some group of women who go spelunking. It's horrible! It's just a gore fest, and it doesn't even end well, not that I expected it to, but the ending is particularly terrible.

I saw the preview for The Golden Age. It looks fantastic. But then, nowadays every movie looks sweeping and epic and fantastic, I felt a bit overwhelmed after the previews were over.

And OF COURSE Becoming Jane isn't playing here. But, I saw Stardust instead, which I loved. I have to read the book now. The name Neil Gaiman kept ringing bells in my head and I couldn't figure out if I'd read any books or not and then I saw my copy of "Good Omens" that he and Neil wrote together. I LOVE that book, so I think I'll love him.

And I love Netflix. Haven't had a single problem with them since my free trial.

well the first film, Elizabeth was pretty epic, it is kind of hard to make a film about her reign that wouldn't be pretty big and epic! LOL

I'm glad to hear you enjoyed 'Stardust', I hadn't heard a very good review from biffsbabe and I wasn't sure if I should wait for the DVD. I think I'll go on Friday, although if 'Death at a Funeral' is opening on Friday then I might be tempted to see that instead.... What is with all the good late Summer movies?!

I have had a few problems w/netflix over the years, but for the most part they are well run and responsive to complaints (I didn't think much of Blockbusters DVD by mail service).

I haven´t watched a good Clive Owen movie in ages! So, that´s something to look forward to.

But -of course- I have seen Becoming Jane just recently and I agree it is a lovely and funny film.

Yeah, Clive's latest movie is supposed to really stink, but I'm really looking forward to 'Elizabeth: the Golden Age', I love the director, Cate Blanchett, and Geoffrey Rush so I would go even if Clive Owen wasn't looking incredibly hot in tights!

And I'm glad to reread my review of Becoming Jane, because you can see that I do agree w/your feelings that it would be wonderful if Jane really did have such a romantic/exciting youth.
