Becoming Jane

I had a fun day today, buying some baby clothes for my new little second cousin (or first cousin once removed, I'm not very good at figuring out these relationships).  Did you know that the Harley-Davidson company makes some very cute clothes?  LOL

I went to the movies and saw a wonderful preview for The Golden Age, a sequel (I guess) to Cate Blanchett's Elizabeth which has Geoffrey Rush reprising his role from that film, and adds Clive  Owen as the sexiest Sir Walter Raleigh I've ever seen (I've certainly never seen a man who looks better in Elizabethan tights and a goatee!)

mmmmm Clive....

but of course this was NOT the feature film I was there too see... but it certainly put me in the mood for romance!

I saw, and loved Becoming Jane.  And although I'm quite sure Jane Austen never received this many proposals or ever considered elopement (according to the scholarly biographies I've read there is absolutely no reason to believe she ever received any marriage proposals), and of course we ALL know that she never had such large beautiful dark eyes or such full red lips, but still the story is beautifully told with spectacular scenery, wonderful acting, and really moving writing.  I loved every minute of the film, and I would actually be happier if I could believe she ever experienced half so much passion and romance!

It is a lovely romantic and funny film, which I recommend to everyone.
