So the answer about the jobs is that the guy at Lowes has continued to screw me over, and the guy at Adirondack scenic was pretty nice. In sum, I have a job at a union shop outside of Glens Falls, NY. Although I'm a "carpenter", I spent all of yesterday and most of today working with the load-out crew, who were all pretty awesome guys. ( Read more... )

I applied for a job at Lowes sometime in the middle of January, and actually started interviewing with them before the end of the month. We got all the way to the compulsory drug test, which is dutifully taken and mailed off for analysis. I'm told I'll hear from them in three days, or four at the latest. Awesome. A couple of things have colluded to allow me to post to livejournal again. For some magical reason, moving back to New York has caused my computer screen to start working again. I forgot to mention that a part of the reason to stick around MD for a week was that I wanted to run the Scorpian Crawl again (the 5k race at my high school). I ran a 26.31 which I think is faster than I ran it in high school. Or at least close. So that's pretty awesome. It's snowing in Syracuse. Fairly apt for the hellish week I'm having, I think. But I have a job lined up for the summer, and for the rest of the semester, so I should be happy, right? Nope.
