You know, that's interesting, can you do a field trip report?
I'm curious to know how being near the 'sex district' in Paris would differ from the same in another city, specifically in North America. Now, I'm assuming you haven't *been* to the same in the US -- me neither. But here those kinds of businesses are usually associated with the 'seedy' part of town, with other questionable businesses around and quite a lot of the homeless and criminal element. Other than Las Vegas, maybe.
Remember going a couple of blocks too far in Vancouver, at Gas Town? Passing by that head shop, I felt uncomfortable -- not because of that shop, but because the area was... unsavory? Not bad, just not... 'acceptable'? Maybe it was my own prudish imagination (she says, writing slash).
That whole european vs. american view of sex, I suppose.
I don't think I've been to any red light districts in the US, no although I've only really been to the USA when I was younger, and kids don't pick up on the same things.
I do remember going a few streets too far in Vancouver, but it didn't really make me feel uncomfortable.
