Jamie, have you ever read Ariel Schrag's graphic memoirs? Her stuff tends to be pretty awesome, and this comic reminds me of it in some ways. Antigone has three out of four of them if you're interested. The last two are much more mature -- makes sense, I suppose -- but I enjoyed all of them. (Also, she's from the Bay not too far from me and talks about people and places I know, which makes me feel all special.)
I'm sad about all the festivities and friendtime I missed. (Made donuts? MADE donuts?? What is this alchemy?!) A pox on work, with our small staff and sudden popularity.
And I will consider Slither... the whole tentacle rape thing gives me pause, though. Why is Elizabeth Banks in everything now? It's like what Chris Rock said about Jude Law in '05: if [s]he's not one of the stars, [s]he made them cupcakes or something.

I actually did read one of her comics and liked it a lot. I think it was the one she did about middle school? I read a lot of graphic memoirs...if you like her stuff you should check out this book called "Escape from Special", by Melissa Gross. It's pretty similar.
They were vegan donuts too! Ask Kat about them! They were delicious.

Thanks! I think I'm going to start doing them on weekends because during the week my life is sort of boring.
