Chicago didn't break him, because despite the cultural differences, he was still among his own kind. Two or three years with the Cylons beating down his walls would, I think, warp him in unhappy ways.

okay - just so you know - I haven't read the previous stuff. Reading this? I will block out a chunk of time tomorrow to catch up. This is just fantastic. Or f-angst-astic.

Actually, you won't need that much time to catch up. The majority of the previous stories were drabbles and ficlets, so while it's a wild ride, it's also relatively brief.

I'm glad it worked for you, because this part wasn't exactly a ball of sunshine.

Hm.

Come to think of it, none of the stories have exactly been a ball of sunshine.

Not a ball of sunshine at all, but then again if it were it wouldn't really fit with BSG or Leoben. He's a mindfrakking stalker robot, whether he believes his intentions are pure or not. It's always possible he's correct, but his methods are terrible and one can never really tell. It would be hard to believe he wouldn't take advantage of Fraser's affinity for his appearance, and impossible to believe the cylons wouldn't attempt to make use of a human from Earth.

And I love this Fraser, who tries to be so measured and logical and maintain the right, but knows he's so close losing his grip. I like that he is so trustworthy, but that the experience with the cylons and the vision has made him unreliable in his own mind.

And the sex was wrong and hot.

So yeah, the whole thing works for me. *g* Thank you.

You're welcome, though it's odd to be saying that about such painful fic.

It's going to get better though, which makes me happy.

Ooh! RAY!! Ray's alive!

Also...yeow! this hurts in all the ways it should. this continues to be wonderful. I hope you keep writing it! The answer is definitely Yay!

Alive? Maybe. On Earth? Maybe. Hard to say, because Leoben lies when it suits him and tells the truth when he thinks to gain an advantage.

But I will take your "Yay" with a certain amount of relief, because yes, this part was a bitch and a half to write.
