NICU stands for Neo-Natal Intensive Care Unit. It's where very sick babies go. He went in due to serious GI (gastro-intestinal) issues that we're still trying to determine the root cause of. He's doing much better though!

The Apgar test is one given right at birth and then 5 minutes afterwards to assess newborns. 10 is the max, so 8 and 9 are excellent scores.

Wow Misty you guys have had quite the ride. I'll be checking in to hear how little Alex is doing and how you are recovering. Thanks for updating us. Take care of yourself.

they really did - i had wendy at my delivery, and margie was on call for the rest of the weekend. they really looked out for me.
