So I went to go look at that place out by Harriman State Park. I want it. It's in Bearsville, NY. It's just a one bedroom cabin with a sneeze of a loft, but it's sound. Just ugly. And that is easily fixed. The plumbing seems good (what little of it there is) though the wiring's crap. Think I'd just start over with the electric

I was curious about that. If we're meant to take care of things ourselves then why does the Athenaeum exist in the first place? If it's just to keep track as an information clearinghouse then they shouldn't have any authority whatsoever. If it's to keep magical objects from falling into the wrong hands, who's to say whose hands are the wrong ones? I remember in the past the Athenaeum was more directly involved in Tales lives. These days they largely seem to collect dues and, well, don't do much else, from what I've seen.

I've never been in Tale Central before - I always lived way out in the boondocks where they didn't mess with me. I think part of the problem is that their role isn't well enough defined.

From other Tales, mostly. I mean, look what happened when I trusted the Athaena - Athena - Athenaeum? Crap I can never spell it. When I trusted THEM to keep Jonas and Rita safe from the Bridge Troll. STILL ended up fighting him myself.
