I'm hoping today isn't more of a "Tired Day" than it has already turned out to be. I even managed to sleep through Neil getting ready for work

OOH, I like those shoes! They're very nice. I'm actually looking for a similar pair for hiking with the Girl Guides, but not for a thousand smackeroos. Ouch! Thank the powers that be for your medical care, indeed! I'm glad to hear that the PICC line removal went ok. You're on my daily Reiki sending list.
I agree..don't overdo it with the hauling, love. Healing is what's most important.
Thanks. They were the pick of the shop. I imagine that since you don't need orthopaedic shoes, you can probably find yourself a good deal. I imagine you also wear a more standard size than I do, which makes it a lot easier.
Land's End and L.L. Bean come to mind as having good hiking footwear. My boots are made by Dr. Comfort, a brand that specialises in diabetic feet and wide feet. (Indeed, the orthotist kind of dithered for a bit about my choice because he was concerned that my feet might be too narrow for the boot!)
Thank you so much for your support and kind thoughts and healing energy. May it all return to you a thousand-fold. *hugs back*
Yes, I wear a very generic 7-7.5 ladies' shoe. Most shoes give me blisters, but other than that, no problems. I just buy them at the store or out of Sears catalogue (of the novelty underpants, I STILL can't believe they sell those things. ((smacks head)). I'm sure I'll find some. I don't really need them til Guides starts up in the Fall.
Oh yeah! I can take showers again and not have to worry about getting the Creeping Blorch into the line. It's going to be so awesome to be really CLEAN again. (Gee, wonder if I remember how to shower? *giggle*)
Neil's have that double-bar brace that required a lot of special engineering...that, and the right show needs to be customised for his right foot. His right great toe bends to the right at about ninety degrees, thanks to Charcot foot. I have no idea what mine will cost, but I imagine that they fall under the category of Not Cheap. No, $350 does not sound expensive at all!
