Zac Efron's Twitter...

Mar 24, 2012 16:16

Since people want to vent, I'm making a separate post to keep it centralized. I would also like to state from the start, that as is the norm here, you don't have to agree with someone's comment, you can debate with them even, but you do have to respect them and allow them their opinion ( Read more... )

social media, skip if you don't like debate, @zacefron, essay

My head is exploding.
I'm too busy to keep up with Twitter and FB since they're both so boring. I get as much if not more from a fansite, like zefron.com, or this blog. At least zefron.com keeps things interesting and this blog - the fans are great on this blog (and you've a unique way of posting Zac updates.)
As far as I'm concerned, those are other Zac fansites that are yawn....

I just want to say that this is Twitter we're talking about, i.e the site that kills celebs on a daily and the Trending Topics are basicly ran by fandoms. Now do I like everything they're doing with his Twitter? Absolutely not, I've done better tweets on a drunk night, but I don't think this is something to go overboard on. Basically the real problem is they haven't found a happy medium with his account. Either they don't do enough, or like yesterday they do way to damn much. I think in time they'll find a balance, and honestly the fate of his career doesn't rest in this account working out so can we chill out a bit? I think we can.

Social media does really have a huge impact on celebrities' careers. See what happened to Amanda Bynes after she got a twitter? It is a big deal, especially right now when he's at a really transitional point in his career and this could really help determine whether people take him seriously or not.

It is the determining factor of his career? Of course not. But it does matter. Part of what Zac really has going for him is he has a great image, and a good reputation as a nice, likeable human being and to see someone running his twitter in such a sloppy and inane way is really frustrating.

Amanda was a completely different situation but I see your point. Still the Twitter in itself isn't that bad, sloppy yes but still not that bad. My only problem was it came off has a young fan was tweeting for him after a while, and I didn't really need the 30 extra people following me out of no where asking me to help them get followed lol. Honestly what happened yesterday wasn't damaging, it was just annoying and at the monet I see no need for an uprising against whoever's running his account.

Fair enough, but honestly it will only get worse lol. I think it has the potential to become really bad and unless something changes it could be damaging, which is more what people are upset about I think. That and the spamming lol.

Zac should be PISSED and needs to step up and get someone he trusts..or himself, to be the one to 'market' him..thru his social media!

OMG I can't get over the fact that his twitter is speaking in first person. And that hard core fans are BELIEVING it. Like WTF? How stupid. It seems they got someone new to run the twitter because from the start is was written in 3rd person and ONLY talked about his projects/when he was going to be on a talk show or something. This is like a full 180 to what it was from the start. Clearly whoever is running it doesn't know anything about Zac/his fanbase/movies ( ... )

This just crossed my mind, but what if someone hacked Zac's twitter? That's probably not it. But I did notice a difference in how whoever is running his twitter would tweet in third person about promo and stuff to yesterday talking in first person, etc.

I really don't have a problem with it, but since a lot Zac fans seem to then they (we) should probably do something to get a consensus of what out concerns are to Gina and/or Zac and/or whoever runs his twitter.

When I FIRST saw it yesterday my first thought was "did someone hack Zac's twitter?" Then then the fact that whoever was doing it also posted the same fan pics on facebook head me to believe it wasn't hacked.

Like I said, #1 thing I dislike is they are leading fans on to believe its HIM behind that computer/phone sending out those tweets when it clearly isn't. Then he goes on a TV show and says it doesn't use twitter. It does nothing but make HIM look like a liar when he really isn't.

See thats the thing. I have no idea how to get someone like Gina to see whats happening.

Like the #FF was cute and I was like awww cause I have seen other celebs do that (i.e. Tom Cruise). I don't mind the fan replies, but RTing seems a bit much. But I'm not really complaining. I think whoever is running it will figure it out eventually and/or someone else will take over.

He hasn't really mentioned using twitter on a tv show just in that Italian magazine interview (which yk only real Zac fans know about anyway). Most people do know it's not really Zac. The people thinking it's really him aren't his real fans if that makes sense.

Well we should probably figure something out of how to get a consensus of concerns together for Gina and/or Zac to see.
