From DH:

UPDATE: Warner Bros has been as stingy as any major on producing deals in recent years. But I've learned the studio has just given a first look 2-year deal to Zac Efron. The studio plans to buy pitches, spec scripts, and books for Efron and his still unformed company to develop as star vehicles.

It's really amazing that he got a real first-look deal. There is only a handful of actors who has that and as mentioned nobody even remotely as young as Zac. Normally, only established A-List actors (and most already have production experience before that) get first looks deals.

I hope he picks his office on the lot. Somehow that has something (over somewhere else).

THAT IS CRAZY.

excellent. I want Bourne-like things most. Especially that type of cinematography and tone, if we can get specific about aesthetics.

i made this comment in the last post:

i need help understanding what this all means. i get how impressive it sounds, and "first look" obviously sounds like something any actor would be thrilled to have, but in laymen's--or fangirls--terms, what exactly does it all mean????

Basically, whenever his production company has something developing, Warner Bros. gets the right to see it first before any studio.

&& they can either greenlight it or pass. && then he's free to shuffle it to other studios.

It's good for Zac because he won't have to hustle too much with different studios over the next two years since Warner has the first-look, && basically it's a showing that they're willing to work with him && develop these projects that he's working on.
