UPDATE: Warner Bros has been as stingy as any major on producing deals in recent years. But I've learned the studio has just given a first look 2-year deal to Zac Efron. The studio plans to buy pitches, spec scripts, and books for Efron and his still unformed company to develop as star vehicles.

This is really really awesome, I love this if I understand it correctly. AND if he gets an office at Warner Brothers I would love love love it if his office is close to George Clooney's and we happen to maybe get pictures of them playing basketball sometime.

But, seriously, good for him. I'm really interested in this "determined to find him a franchise..." thing, very interesting to see what happens here. I agree with the Jason Bourne comparisons, to see Zac in an action franchise that is well-written and respectable, but still entertaining to the masses would be really sweet.

Sorry one other thing, I think this really does show that he's got a vision for his career and is taking the right steps to be as in control of what happens to him professionally as possible.

I think he's laying the foundation to make sure that his career is sustainable and making damn sure that he doesn't become just another hot star that falls off the radar in a few years. Bravo!
