Input on Lolita designs?

Jan 29, 2016 02:55

What with localised lolita fashion such as Wa lolita for Japan and Qi Lolita for China, I suddenly had the urge to make my own designs of localised lolita fashion for the Philippines. I was very disappointed and frustrated that the only brand that makes lolita clothing there happen to be DollDelight which aesthetically I find personally unappealing ( Read more... )

All of these designs are beautiful! The first three designs in the first image and the bottom two designs are my favourites, though all of them are stunning. I love that you've been inspired by another/your own culture; it's a very fascinating take.

I'm definitely seconding first two-bottom two. If the yellow one was an actual dress I'd definitely wear it, I love sunflowers!

I also really like that you've put lots of detail into your designs, and coorded them too!

I've also been looking for sunflower patterns on lolita dresses, but they don't show up. ;A; It's such a shame, isn't it? Though roses are nice, I wish there were more types of flowers in lolita dresses >.>

Thank you! <3

It really is! I hope we'll see more flower variety.

Love these! I've been thinking about making a Maria Clara inspired lolita dress too. I like your designs. For some of the Maria Clara ones, I'd like to see a sleeveless version, but have the shawl become a collar so it doesn't seem as bulky up. top. That way I could wear it in a colder climate. I love terno sleeves, but it is too cold for me to wear them in Seattle since you can't put a blouse underneath or cardigan on top.

I think Filipino embroidery on the edges as lace would also be really pretty.

That's actually something I've been thinking about as well, how to create more dresses in different weather, because you're definitely right about the butterfly sleeves not having much options for coordination especially in cold weather. >.<

I think so too! I'm a massive fan of embroidery and Filipino embroidery on the edges of the dress like the hem and sleeves would be amazing! *o*

Will you be getting them made in the future?

I'm sort of gauging the interest atm to see if it's a great idea. I don't know how to sew myself so I'd need to commission someone who can. I'm considering it very carefully :3

I think the gingham one and the sunflower ones really could work!

I hope these become real one day :)

I'm so glad you think so! >/////< I really do hope I find a way to get the ideas made. I still have more I'm thinking of as well and hopefully I can post those in the near future. I do wonder however if a Lolita brand can exist on a very specific cultural aesthetic or if it'll have to just be one part of it and many other normal Lolita designs should also be made.
