I don't know if there is anything offical you can do, but if this site is school operated I'm sure you should be able to. Either way I hope you can. Good luck!

Thanks! I've told the RA I live with and she said she'll definitely bring it up with the Resident Director in our building. He can at the very least tell Res Life, as the twitter is full of candid pictures of people asleep or going about their lives on campus.

I imagine in a school situation that could count as bullying, so if it really bothers you, definitely speak to a teacher about it. Outside of that setting, yes I've had that happen, little annoying but there's nothing you can do and it doesn't bother me that much (I'm aware I'm dressed unusually).

I am a college senior and am far beyond caring about being bullied (heck, to wear Lolita I feel like we all have to grow pretty thick skins) but have spoken to an RA to help with the situation. The entire twitter is invasive and should probably be taken down.

Oh, sorry, we don't really call University 'school' in the UK so I assumed you meant high-school. But yeah, it's still a pretty weird thing to be doing, someone clearly has too much time on their hands

No worries, I figured you meant the same thing in the end. :D

If there are pictures of people sleeping etc that is definitely not okay :/ I really hate when people take my picture so I'm sorry that happened to you :C You're saying it was someone you were not with that took the picture? Or a friend you were with? That part is a little confusing but either way I hope you can get it sorted out. Unfortunately I don't know much about what you could do. Twitter can suspend accounts for harassment sometimes so you can try tweeting/messaging their official support account asking the image to be taken down?

It's someone I don't even know. She's a freshman who snapped the shot from a table outside the door of the store. I'll make that more clear; thank you for your support.

If it is at school, you signed something allowing your photographs to be used by the school for any kind of promotional purposes. It's hidden in the enrollment and orientation papers and stuff. Almost every school does that.
But you should totally ask them to take it down if it bothers you. That's pretty rude of them to say that about a student.

It wasn't a school photograph, it was a camera phone belonging to a freshman I do not know; therein lies my problem XD

Oh. Yeah, I don't know if they're allowed to use random pictures of you taken by other people if you sign something like that. I'd still try to email and ask them to remove it.

It's also a twitter hashtag; we're not even sure if the twitter account is run by a student at my school, so it's really problematic.

Sounds like something that would go on at my university (San Francisco). :(

There are a lot of freshman from out of the area that gawk at us, and I wouldn't be surprised if they did something like that.

In San Fran, with BtSSB there and all, I'd assume more people would get it. O.o

1) Just because BtSSB/AP/h.Naoto are here, doesn't mean that it is well known to the general public

2) A lot of people at the school are from Southern California, and to them we are just as eclectic as the rest of San Francisco. Just like everywhere else, Lolitas are treated as a spectacle, a sideshow attraction. We have to tough it out here just like everywhere else. Tourists are also guilty of treating us as a spectacle.

I would think it would be at least a little more known with many girls from the area/elsewhere going shopping in San Francisco.

I find that so unfair, we're normal people who just like an unusual fashion. It really should make no difference what you are wearing! That is why I love being in Greenwich in NY. No one cares since I'm never the most unusually dressed person walking around the streets.
