Christmas gifts for Lolitas

Dec 07, 2011 15:31

Christmas is just behind the corner and everybody is busy picking gifts!

And I have to confess to not knowing what to buy for certain Lolita acquaintances. Now, I'm not asking for help in picking gifts for friends - I know my friends and I know what they'd like to get.

But I'm going to a Christmas meet, and we'll be having a Secret Santa exchange ( Read more... )

Cakes or cookies! Every lolita should be happy with a big jar of cookies xD
Or simple jewelry you can make by yourself, like bracelets, necklaces, will surely be appreciated.
Anyway, something you made by yourself and put your love in is always the best, you don't need something too complicated ^^

No, no, no food.

I have celiac disease and whenever I get food in something like this it is nearly always something that I can't eat and have to pass on to another person.

(It's pretty miserable to be a lolita who cannot eat cake, cupcakes, cookies, biscuits, or pancakes and have to explain to people that no, I'm not on a diet, and I'm not turning up my nose at their offerings, it's just that everything on the table except the fruit will poison me.)

I'm with the simple jewellery idea.

Feeling your pain. I used to be polite and explain it that way, but I dropped it in favour of telling people it causes constipation and farting like a racehorse. Cue nervous laughter and change of subject. Hah.

Yeah. In my case, farting like a racehorse, followed by diarrhea, followed by violent mood swings and a migraine. None of which make for a great tea party experience! :)

Ahaha, no, I'm nowhere near that rich as to give out a pearl anything to an acquaintance in a gift exchange xDDD

You could do glass pearls, they have those at Claire's, and real freshwater ones pretty cheap. Like http://www.amazon.com/Freshwater-Cultured-Quality-5-5-6mm-Bracelet/dp/B004GJW1C6/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1323282565&sr=8-5
You could do that wrapped with a cute bow and they'd be impressed.

wahhh~ i really like your idea of making a cupcake shaped soup and i am pretty sure that most lolitas would love to have one too~
actually i am also quite anxious and think of the worst scenarios when it comes to picking gifts. so everytime i make a big fuss about buying or making the ideal present, i try to calm myself by keeping in mind that there will always be a little risk that your recipient won t like it or is allergic to it (which goes especially for cakes, cookies and other food), even though you ve tried your best. plus since its a secret santa exchange, i don t think that anyone would be mad at you, cause the most import thing when giving a present to someone is that you give something you would love to get with all of your heart =^.^=

if you want to make sure, that she will like it, even if she isn t found of the aroma/color you ve put in the soap, just keep it very classic. a simple, decent rose aroma is something mostly everbody likes~

I would think that if you are worried about it, dont use any aroma or color, just use shea butter(if you happen to have any. I dont know where or how mush it is, as i only know this info because my mom likes to make me make soaps lol)

You can easily do an unscented soap, but color is always nice, and it's not like someone MUST have soap in their favorite color ;) Be careful with the rich butters and such, as there are people who are allergic to shea and cocoa butter. (Cocoa butter actually gives me hives and burns my skin amazingly...)
