Ha. Not the best lighting. I COULD have made it more frightening if the fangs were lit and in focus better. :-)

Wow, I had no idea that they had stink glands! All those times I'd pick them up, and never noticed!

How they look triggers some sort of disgust in me, and makes me mentally recoil.
But after seeing my first house centipede (google it) daddy long legs did not seem so bad at all.

I've never seen a house centipede in person yet. It would set me back too! Though I just read that they are good to have in your house - they get rid of bad bugs. Hmm!

When I was young, I was very much an arachnophobe, but daddy longlegses never really bothered me.

How close to you have to be to smell it?

When I was a kid I used to like to pick them up by one leg and move them. Sometimes the leg fell off and I think the smell came then. Maybe it was a protective odor they made when they were scared or injured.
