After dinner tonight I went down and worked on going through some of the stuff on that wet cabinet in the basement. Nasty and slimy some of it. It was very easy to throw a lot of it out - I filled a big garbage can pretty quickly. I found out that the contents of the top drawer were ruined but the lower drawers are okay. Oh my goodness! That had to be a very emotional time for you....going through that cabinet.

I knew Nanny and I remember a black and white cat, seem to remember the name Flower, but the rest of the pictures are new to me. I do remember the chickens and chicken house and how Dad named some of them, but I don't remember that picture. I am loving so much looking at these pictures, especially mom's garden. Do you think she first planted it in the late 50s? I seem to remember it within a few years after we moved to Sugarcreek. I have many memories of helping mom pick a lot of the vegetables and that she planted certain flowers around the perimeter to repel bugs. The more I look at those last two pictures, I'm having some recall about you telling me of your trip to Canada with Dave. Was that the only time you ever went there with him?

So many of your old photos were ruined!

I love seeing your photo of one of your goats. I had not seen photos of them before.

Good on Dave for making that chook house!

Yes, chooks have great personalities, and I can just imagine your dad watching them and naming them :)

You are a good painter! I like the seagull painting you did. Even the photos you kept that had damage are pretty unique. The damage looks like ice crystals framing the photos.
