progress on the back porch and fence

Jul 09, 2018 08:28

Yesterday I felt very antsy and wanted to go on a bike ride, wished I had someone to go with but couldn't find anyone. I could have gone by myself but then I felt a little guilty knowing that Dave was at home working on the fence by himself. He didn't really need me but every once in a while it was nice that I was there to hold the tape measure and ( Read more... )

The fence looks good. I can picture clematis or morning glory growing on it.

Yeah! I've always wanted a clematis - good idea.

Just like how your kids grow up so fast - the grandkids do too! Another stage of life to move into. Blaa.

"Feeling a bit sad about one thing this summer."

I can totally relate to that. Jason is my oldest grandchild and the one who lived with me for most of his life. Now he's with his mom AND is heading into his mid-teens and doesn't have time for as much as a weekly phone call or text. Sorry for all of us who are now facing this.

Still a bit jealous of your amazing bike rides but definitely enjoy reading about them. And the new enclosure with its latticework looks absolutely great!

Yes, seems to be the nature of life (and change). It only stays that way (when they need and want us) for a short time.

Don't be jealous - get your bike out! Sounds like you have a nice Cannondale.

With the new bike (trike) I am finding I can ride much easier and longer - much more comfortable. I would really recommend it if you were in the market for a new bike and found a regular bike uncomfortable. Though I feel like I get more attention while riding it than I wish I did. It is still an oddity. I'm hoping as there are more of them out there that they get to be humdrum.

"Don't be jealous - get your bike out!" LOL, yeah, I've thought about that but the C'dale would likely need a lot of work to make it roadworthy again and I also have some doubts about my own "roadworthiness."

I was thinking about a recumbent trike like yours, for awhile, but worry about visibility in traffic around here. So, I've been going to the track recently and hoping to build up to somewhere near my aerobic threshold.

Still, ya never know. In the meantime, "Keep on trikin'," lol...
