Amusing observation of the day:
Modern mecha series (and by modern, I mean as far back as the early 90s, perhaps even going back to the original Gundam) frequently start with "there was an ecological catastrophe, and, then, mecha".

King! King! King Gainer! Metalu Overman King Gainer!
I went to see Fido with rubeus tonight. It was awesome, though it also kind of catered to my meta-taste. Most of it was a very subtle parody of both life in the '50s and movies in/about the '50s. However, there were a few lines that were laugh-out-loud funny. I really enjoyed it, it was definitely worth seeing in theatres.
