She'd seen the machine a few times now, in passing, and couldn't help but be fascinated. It moved around the Sphere independantly, or so it seemed. Mona couldn't find a controller. It navigated the bridges, stayed on the path... how? Was it a part of this place? That didn't seem all that likely, when considered. After all, the machine was everywhere. Others had to notice it ( ... )

An organic life-form - human, by the looks of it - registered on his sensors but came up behind him before he could even determine whether or not it was worth noting. Before he could react he was being lifted bodily off of the ground, squealing and flailing his legs around in a vain attempt to get free. He swiveled his dome around to get a look at this human who was apparently capable of lifting his entire bulk as though he weighed almost nothing. Although he wasn't really in the position to make a good visual appraisal, nothing about her seemed to betray superhuman levels of strength. She looked... average, at least for a human female, and for a micro-second he entertained the notion that perhaps he had lost weight.

Such an occurrence was inconceivable, however, as all of his components appeared to be present. Anyway, he was much too busy flailing and warbling loudly at her along the lines of, What the hell?! Where are you taking me? Put me down! to stop and ask how she was able to manage this.

It was moving and beeping, which suggested some sort of alarm system was in place. So perhaps this belonged to someone. The thought didn't trouble her, it simply encouraged her to make even more certain she was not spotted. There, up ahead, was the house. It was a juggling act of sorts, getting a key out and into the lock without dropping the wiggling machine, but she managed, and all without losing her hat ( ... )

Skywalker quieted down when Mona began speaking, although it became clear immediately that she was speaking about him rather than to him. He was somewhat used to this - most people here had apparently never seen or heard of droids before, and so their first assumption was generally that he wasn't sentient. He tended to disregard it unless it was particularly important, and in this case he wasn't certain that it was in his best interests to correct the person. Being sentient made him useful, and if she thought he was less useful than he was she might be more willing to part with him ( ... )

That sound... was almost sad. Was it a defense mechanism of some form? Surely someone that made something as fascinating as this wouldn't want it to be easily stolen, or tampered with ( ... )
