Scavenger's Yard - Afternoon of the 20th crimsonmischief February 21 2011, 00:14:07 UTC
The Yard wasn't a surprising place to find Crimson. The man often came down here to root through the various knick-knacks that could be found here, liking the little mysteries that he found there and then bringing them up to his apartment to polish and fix up. Besides, it offered the most privacy, in case he wished to investigate something a little less tree-allowed.

Gai had been down here a lot lately. His first job had been Scavenging, but he knew there were a few things down here that he was still trying to find. Determination didn't fade, where Gai was concerned. Plus, Mother's messing around had him a bit concerned. She was clearly a loose canon, and no one had the sort of power she did.

Catching sight of Crimson lightened Gai's mood. He'd seen the guy around, and read a few things on the journals from hm. Glancing up, Gai couldn't help but smirk just a little, because he could see that the mistletoe had returned.

"Hello, Crimson! How are you today?"

Looking up as he tucked yet another piece of broken machinery into one of his numerous pockets, Crimson grinned and waved, even as grey eyes amusedly found the mistletoe trailing behind the other ninja. Well, three guesses as to what would happen soon, he supposed.

"Ah, Gai-san~! I have been alright, and you?"

It looked like at last Gai had found someone for whom mistletoe meant something. At least, Crimson was eying the plant and looking amused, and that seemed meaningful. Maybe Crimson wouldn't mind explaining.

"I have been well, thank you!" Gai gave Crimson a cheerful thumbs up. "Tell me, if you are able, what does that plant have to do with hugging?"

How about the bazaar? 21st, afternoon pinkmoonrabbit February 21 2011, 19:18:55 UTC
Sailormoon often puttered around the Bazaar after work, looking at many of the shops and avoiding getting trampled. Her hands were finally not pink from the paint, but so were the walls, now bare and flower-less. She figured she'd buy some new paints and repaint the wall again.

She spotted Gai. He was pretty hard to miss, even with all the people puttering about around her. "Gai-papa!"

Gai beamed as he heard the familiar voice calling his name. Turning, he spotted her bright pink hair. "Sailormoon!" Already he could feel the now-familiar draw of mistletoe, but even without it he'd get closer to her. Cheerfully Gai scooped her up, giving her a hug. It would dispell the mistletoe, but if she was cozy there was no reason to put her back down yet.

"What are you doing? Would you like a hand?"

She hugged him tightly, snugging into him. "I was window shopping. Would you like to come with me?"

Smiling, he nodded. "I would! What shops in particular were you looking at? We can hit them all!" Gai shifted her so he could hold her with ease for a while, just in case there were lots of shops to hit. He didn't have any other plans for the day; this might as well be enjoyed.

Bazaar, afternoon of the 18th coughcoughshank February 21 2011, 19:32:58 UTC
Daitou was rather glad to be back to normal size - even if it had come with some odd clothing. The leather greaves and wide belt were comfortable, though, even if it did make him look more like the fighter he was than usual. But he didn't have to stand on a box to reach the counter in the shop.

Not that he was in the shop right now. No, he was out looking at the other shops, and contemplating the possibility of lunch. And maybe something nice for Tian...

Wandering, very glad to be back to his own body, Gai went through the bazaar not looking for anything in particular. Maybe he would pick up dog treats. Or maybe they could do with a few more glasses. It couldn't hurt.

As he walked, Gai saw Daitou. He thought nothing of it, though, until he felt the inorexable draw of the mistletoe redirecting his steps. Well. It looked like he would have some explaining to do; Daitou hadn't been around the first time this happened.

"Hello, Daitou!"

Daitou looked up from the stall he'd been examining at the sound of his name, and blinked. Seeing who it was, he gave the older man an enthusiastic wave. "Hello, Gai-san!"

Oh good, he'd found Daitou in a good mood. Maybe the young man wouldn't be bothered by the need for a hug. Doubtlessly any moment now he'd notice that he was being drawn to Gai too, and then there was a chance of annoyance. At least he normally seemed nice.

"I hope today has been... good? Because I think that it is about to get strange, I am sorry. Do you have mistletoe where you come from? Or any traditions with it?"

He was now a few steps closer. While Gai couldn't fight the force pulling them together, rushing it seemed a bad idea. He would take what time he could.

Bazaar, lunchtime, the 21st. mythgravenblade February 21 2011, 20:30:20 UTC
All else considered, this new development was a relief. No longer did he speak oddly...he was only followed around by strange music. It was practically benevolent, by Tree standards, and he found himself humming along with the tune as he went for his lunch break.

"Hello, Gai," Paladin said cheerfully, as he caught sight of the other in the midst of the bazaar stands.

Gai turned at the greeting, smiling when he saw Paladin there. "Hello, Paladin! It has been a bit since I last saw you! You are well?" He joined Paladin at the food stand, glancing at what was available. After a moment he decided that wasn't what he was looking for and stepped away to see the next stand over.

Or he tried to step away.

And that's when he realized he was stuck. "...Paladin. I do not suppose you remember something that affected the Sphere about a year ago?"

Wellspring Island, 20th, early evening notpissedoff February 22 2011, 03:00:12 UTC
Much to Rain's relief, the itchy red spots that had plagued him for the past week had been gone without a trace when he woke up today, and it didn't appear as though the Sphere had swapped them out for anything else inconvenient. After being cooped up inside for that long, it felt good to get out and stretch his legs a bit.

Which was why the snow hadn't deterred him from spending much of the day just walking around Edensphere rather than remaining in the Spa. He was currently approaching the bridge that led from Wellspring over to the Bazaar, where he planned to grab a bite to eat for supper.

Gai needed to pick up some fresh ingredients for dinner, and so he was off to the Bazaar to poke around and see what he could get. After staring at vegetables for a while, Gai headed off to check out a few of the eateries for inspiration. Who knew? Maybe he would find something that he would be able to make with ease.

He was approaching one of his favorite spots to eat when suddenly he felt himself being pulled away from it. A quick glance around showed him being drawn toward someone he'd seen before but hadn't had really talked to a whole lot. Ah, this might be awkward. "Hello! Rain, I believe? There is... likely something you should... Would you like a hug?" Maybe if Rain said yes Gai could just, well, hug him.

Arriving in the Bazaar and making his way to one of the food stands, Rain was mildly surprised to hear someone call his name, and more so when he spotted the person and realized it was someone he'd very seldom spoken with. Gai, he was fairly sure. What could he want?

Rain was exponentially more surprised at the answer to that question, although his expression didn't show it. Would I... what?

"...No." What in the world had given him that idea? Hugs from random almost-strangers were one of the last things Rain wanted, and he couldn't imagine how he might have given anyone the opposite impression. He started to back away as Gai continued to approach, but didn't get further than a couple steps before realizing that retreating was a lot harder than it should have been. Not only was he suddenly unable to get any further away from the man, but it felt as if something was pulling them closer together ( ... )

Whoops. Gai probably should have known that would be the response. After all, he'd seen how Rain had reacted to winning a date with Bell. Clearly Gai needed a different approach with this person. Maybe if he approached Rain like he would approach... approach... Huh. Who seemed that worried about hugs and teasing? Lin, but she was totally different. Toushi had hang-ups, but he also was different too. Gai had no personal reference to go by ( ... )
