Having only been born less than a week ago, Moon didn't know much about himself: he liked cigarettes, he had little tolerance for stupidity, and he hated rain. His level of disgust had even surprised himself. The first whole day of rain and thunder, he'd just sat by the window, watching the downpour and smoking heavily.

Whatever it was that he couldn't stand about the rain, it would have to be overcome to get to the island. He memorized the route the night before, so he wouldn't look idiotic pulling out a map in the middle of a monsoon.

That didn't stop him from getting lost several times, and with that on top of the rain situation, he was absolutely pissed by the time he reached the first small tent.

Ducking inside without warning, he spotted Fullmetal - was he really just a kid? - and gave a "Tch" as his eyes adjusted.

"Feel like a drowned rat," he muttered, hands running through his hair to get rid of some of the water.

When Click had seen Fullmetal write about needing more journal makers, his first reaction was to laugh and dismiss the idea, thinking that he wasn't suited for such a job. But the more thought about it, the more he liked the idea, so much that he decided that being a full time journal maker was a good idea. If Fullmetal would have him, that is ( ... )

Fullmetal quickly stopped waving his finger about when he noticed, out of the corner of his eye, someone come into the tent. Either it was someone trying desperately to get out of the rain or...

"Are you Moon?" He turned to face the soggy stranger. The poor guy looked desperately unhappy, likely due to being soaked. He couldn't blame him though, the weather really was miserable.

He nodded to Click as the man entered the tent, "I'm glad you came, even though the weather is no good."

It was around this point that Fullmetal became acutely aware of an age difference. So far, the only other journal maker that wasn't older than him was Code. He didn't mind having employees who were older than him-- in fact, he preferred it in many cases, as they tended to be more mature and serious about the job-- but it still felt a little strange to him ( ... )

"Yeah," he managed, after he quietly analyzed the newest person to show up. Not a threat. He wasn't sure why he was assessing people as threats or not, but it probably didn't hurt. "Is the weather always this crappy?"

Moon listened to the description of the job. It sounded simple enough, and he especially liked that it would be quiet. When Fullmetal asked if there were any questions, he shook his head.

Click directed his glance to the one Fullmetal called Moon. "Hey, I'm Click. Nice to meet you." He looked upwards at the ceiling of the tent and then back to Moon. "No, not really. The weather's normal, I guess. Sunny, rainy, cloudy, you know... It's just really wet right now, as you can obviously see."

He listened to Fullmetal describe the job, and thought it sounded like a good enough occupation. Like Moon, he had no questions, so he just shook his head. "Anything else we need to know?"
